If Ross Kemp returns , am I the only person who doesn't want to see a Sharongate in reverse ? Firstly , it's disgusting and secondly surely too much has happened for them to go there again ? People can romanticize the situation all they want but not one single person on this forum can say that in Grant 's situation they would be willing to go there again .

What do you think the writers should do if Ross Kemp does return ?

Personally I think the whole thing has turned into a bit of a mess and I would have preferred Sharon not to be dependent upon Phil. It's already screwed up, reverse Sharongate wouldn't make it much worse.

I also feel like it's such an iconic storyline , they should leave it well alone and not mess with it . It was brilliant the first time around , the show was unmissable at that point but that isn't a reason to go there again . I feel like they are setting it up that if Grant does return , it's inevitable that Sharon and Grant will be together . It's predictable and I don't think they should do it .

The current team like their twists though don't they. Kat/Zoe was iconic too.

I think that should have been left alone too.

You may have to wait for at least 20 years for that to happen

It was a low blow, but Sharon had a point. Phil has put everyone before his own wife.

I don't think we'll ever see Grant again on screen. Ross wasn't prepared to come back for the 30th so I suspect he's done with the show.

Of course they could dangle a lot of money in front of him but I think he enjoys his journalism work far more than EastEnders.

Yes, I see your point. I'm really unsure about it too. If Grant returned I don't think they could resist.

Apparently last time he returned some of the writers wanted to go there but thankfully they were over ruled as Sharon had just married Dennis a couple of months beforehand!

I have never been a fan of Grant personally. I know he is universally loved but I have never liked him. Ross Kemp is wonderful. If Grant came back, I wouldn't mind if he got back together with Sharon. Letitia Dean and Ross Kemp always had good chemistry and Sharon had always been Grant's soulmate. But Grant moved on now. I don't think he wants to reunite with Shazza in future. I think he may have settled down with another lady in Portugal.

Yes that's true. Allegedly the plan was for Sharon and Grant to have sex in the Queen Vic kitchen, and she would fall pregnant with his child

If Grant ever came back I don't think they could resist putting them back together. Even in 2005 their chemistry was electric.

He was smack in the middle of putting the finishing touches to one of Extreme World documentaries so he really was too busy to do it. He is following DTC on Twitter and I think it is possible that he will return . Right now he only knows for certain that he is doing three more documentaries and they are all in the UK .

There was a recent interview from Letitia Dean and she said she will stay on the show for many years now. She said she doesn't want to ever leave this time and hopes she can become one of the matriarchs like Peggy, Pat, Pauline. Hence why I said 20 years

Seriously though, if they'd wanted to be together at any time in the last umpteen years it would have been easy enough to get in touch and for one of them to hop on a plane. You don't have to wait for someone to stroll into the Vic.

He'll always find a reason not to come back to hide the real reason - that he simply doesn't want to!

You don't know that for sure , he did the show for ten years , he couldn't have hated it that much . He has however said that if he is available and the storyline was right then he would be willing to return .

I guess the fact is that he doesn't need the money. Soap actors work long hours and it's often quite gruelling schedule if you're the centre of a plot. I can't see why Ross would go back to that. It seems like a big step backwards for him.

I like some of my old jobs but I wouldn't go back to them just because I liked them.

Ross didn't do the 30th because he wasn't available, it wasn't that he didn't want to according to DTC anyway. I think he will return but only when he gets too old to do the documentaries. His acting career hardly took off outside of EE.

I wouldn't mind seeing Grant and Sharon get back together because they did have more chemistry than Phil and Sharon. They are also the loves of each other's lives. I think Phil and Sharon being together and all the references to their great love story is an insult to anyone who watched Sharongate play out.

It was, thank Gawd they didn't go there. Be amusing if they did a Beckham and named the sprog after where*it was conceived. Zanussi Mitchell?

Ross never ruled out a return. The reason that he didn't comeback to EE anniversary was because he was filming documentris. He also said that he will come back to EE when the right time comes. He is also very grateful for EE. In my opinion i have a funny feeling I might be wrong but I get the feeling that Grant will return to deal with Vincent. Don't get your hopes up as i might be wrong

I would like to see Sharon and Grant together again and back in the Vic with Courtney, Mark Jnr and a teenage Denny.
