Anyone else agree that the wedding should have taken place in their flat?

To be honest I'd prefer that they didn't "go on location" at all. This is a classic British Farce and consequently all scenes should be filmed in their apartment.
I've enjoyed the outside scenes this series.

This second series has been unmissable for me!!

I agree, going on location seems to bring in outside characters which are not funny.

They have six strong cast members, and there's really no need for any more.

They did that in the first series, it was time to try something new and it worked. And it meant it incorporated the other characters into the show a bit more.

Its unlikely to be recommissioned for a 2nd series because last night rating was a series low with only 2.2m. It started with 3.1m on its 1st ep of it 2nd series, so it dropped 900k fr some reason.

Shame because its better than most BBC comedies.

It would be the 3rd series if it was recommissioned.

I'm sure it would do very well on BBC2, personally I love it.

I think it will be recommissioned, but in two years time again. I also think the third will be it's last series.

I saw McKellen being interviewed on CNN, and saw Jacobi in the background (talking loud and drowning out the interview).

You know, I never knew that they were both gay in real life. I didn't even know Ian was. Plus Jacobi looks good to say he's in his 70s.
I knew McKellen was, he's been all over talking about it.

But I wonder if this was Jacobi coming out? I've never seen him talk about it.

Good for him, finally coming out.

I guess not, I'm always a day late and a dollar short (article from 2013):

ITV having stupid documentaries as 'Britain's Smelliest Vaginas' etc.
Missed that Neil, is it on catch up?

A pie is one thing, a ginormous 3 tier wedding cake is another thing...

Especially when it's Penelope carrying it

The cake in the face routine killed, all three times. And I was surprised when they mentioned Mason was Freddie's brother, though I suppose it makes sense. I just can't recall them ever mentioning it before. And as a side-note, the lady playing the shop assistant was really cute. The Frankie Sandford cut suits her.

Best joke of the episode: "A woman's marrying us? Isn't that a bit non-traditional?"

This comedy is awful but if Americans like it it will get another series. That's the way it goes.
They changed the colour of Newcastle Brown Ale to suit the huge American market because they wanted it lighter. What America wants they get.

Erm, this is already the 2nd Series, and it's on ITV, otherwise a flawless post, my friend.

This comedy is awful
In your opinion. Certainly one that is not shared by everyone.

but if Americans like it it will get another series.
If enough viewers from any country like it enough to make it commercially viable, it's likely to be recommissioned.

And you think that American companies don't localise products that they want to sell in the UK?

Anywhere there is a big enough market and someone who wants to sell in it, products will be modified to suit local tastes,

Forget about the American's liking Vicious. It's a fact that 99.99% of ITV's output is of the lowest common denominator dross. If you don't believe me check out ITV2's schedule anytime.

Because of this fact I think that ITV like to be seen spending the odd few quid on a programme that looks like it originated on BBC3. I bet ITV executives are signing off the funds for Vicious - Season 3 at this very moment

I tend to the same generalizations about foreigners too, at times. Never about Brits, I give them more credit than they deserve at times. Benny Hill, Are You Being Served, open door policy, royal family, and stuff like that.

Truth is, the idiot American viewers, you know the ones who let Simon Cowell on their television after you lot spawned him, they're the ones who laugh at this merde. It is one of the worst I've ever seen, and an embarrassment for McKellen and Jacobi and LaTour, but hey if the morons like it, the advertisers will be happy to give it to them. Don't discount an American remake too - have you seen the dreadful remake of The Odd Couple?

Do you think there are any Americans viewing this drek who even know what ale is or the original colour of Newscastle Brown? Don't think so. The Americans viewing this garbage drink Budweiser in their mobile homes and then go buy more at Walmart.

I want more intelligent UK detective series on PBS, and I'm not getting them. Thanks to the mobile home crowd who watches reality shows.

Does it make you feel special talking about people like that?

I know you're talking about Americans but you must feel the same about the Brits? Tell us folk who really enjoy this show who you think we are rather than disguising it as having a go at 'idiot American viewers.'

Even if ITV do manage to sell this series to the American Networks I fail to see, under any circumstances, any US Television Executive having the occupants of Texas Trailer Parks as their target audience?

the jasper scenes were pointless and not required, they could have done without that character completely and just left us wondering who he was

Did anyone think she was? I thought in the dancing episode she called him by another name?
