Love the way they sling barbed comments at each other

What do people think of Iwan in Vicious? It's so different to his other roles. I think he's great.

I certainly don't like his character in GOT (which is a good in that I care enough not to like him), but I like him in this.

Well that was obvious who'd be in bed with Ash.

I'm sorry. Marcia Warren needs her own show. Although, having said that maybe it's better having her one-liners rather than a whole show about her.

I had a feeling it was going to be Violet, but I was hoping it was going to be Penelope

I think the comedy value is her just popping up from nowhere with a zinger.

I thought the writing for her in the dance episode let the character down and that's partly to too much involment as well as her attitude.

Penelope had the best lines tonight
"Bollocks!"
and
'I thought he was speaking 'Bitch'!"

**************

Violet's face at the end She looked like the cat that got the cream.... in a manner of speaking

I didn't mind her in that episode. She was AMAZING tonight. She should pop up in more shows.

Another superb episode! The series has really hit its stride now, I think. Lots and lots of laughs, and Penelope steals every scene.

I like it, it's really funny in parts and the dynamic between Stuart and Freddie is just what I expect from an elderly gay couple, bitching all the time.

As for Ash (Owen Rheon) all I can say is he's a non-comedic actor doing the very best he can in a genre he's unfamiliar with. He was excellent in Misfits which was clearly more drama than comedy and you'd hardly know he is actually Welsh given his accent in this programme. I think people are taking it too seriously and expecting Academy Award winning acting when that's not the point.”

You've explained it well. I don't remember seeing him in anything else and though I don't think he fits in well in this series I did think it was just that - this isn't for him.

I only watched the first episode of the first series and thought it was absolutely dire, just didn't find it funny at all. However I decided to give it another go, (partly because I'd read that IM had said he overacted in the first series and had toned it down a bit) and must say it's quite funny some times but I wouldn't watch on catchup if I missed it nor would I bother recording it. If I'm around when it's on I will watch it again.

It's the highlight of Monday nights in our house. It is bloody hilarious.

A rather lukewarm episode, I thought, but Marcia Warren was fantastic. Her and Frances De La Tour make the show for me. They should give them both their own series.

The last scene was hilarious - although for some strange reason, I kept expecting Penelope to be in bed with Ash instead of Violet. It would've been even funnier if both of them had been in bed with him!

I had hoped it would be Penelope in bed at the end, too.

I wonder what happened to George Layton? Was he so freaked out that he ran away, and FdlT saw her chance to leap on Ash?

Ash's hair is the biggest disappointment of the show for me and Mrs Chuff. Really, he looks awful. I haven't seen Game of Thrones: is his hair just as offputting there, too?

Pretty much. His character in GOT is meant to be incredibly ugly (in the books at least) so he always looks pretty unkempt. His hair in Misfits was great though, and he's SO hot in real life.

It really seems like they've put a lot into improving the series this time around, I think the more time spent out of the house setting is working wonders. It feels a lot less 70's.

I saw Marcia Warren on stage in the Ladykillers. She played the little old lady. She was BRILLIANT!

I'm hoping that given they repeat it on a Friday night as well it's doing well enough combined

Shes even been in Coronation Street...

She has won two Laurence Olivier Theatre Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role - one in 1984 for Stepping Out and the other in 2002 for Humble Boy at the Royal National Theatre. She was also nominated for another in 2001 for In Flame at the New Ambassadors Theatre.

And in Midsomer Murders, the retirement home for British character actors (it used to be The Bill, Or Taggart if you were Scottish)
