I was wondering if Derek has had a little botox? His cheeks are rather smooth and have that shiny look you often see in botox users.

Totally agree, it is a gem of a show and ITV should nurture it.

I agree, very hopeful that this lovely programme is recommissioned for a third season.

That was a brilliant episode. Lovely ending

Pity the ended it with the sadness. Penelope and the cake was rather cliche. So Mason is Freddie's brother.

It would have been nice for the last clip to have been the whole cast.

Again, Penelope and Violet leading the laughs.

Have they done a special this year?

The writer wants to do three series so fingers crossed it's done enough on the two weekly showings combined to warrant its commission.

Lovely final episode, and like others said, lovely ending (stupid announcer ruining the silent credits, as usual, nice one ITV!).

Seriously hope we get a third series, this series has been brilliant.

Oh, that was a sad ending wasn't it. I wonder if that's it or we will get one more. I hope we do, but I think one more series would probably then be enough. I don't know where else they can go with it other than more of the same. It's good and there were some very funny moments but I think its still capable of being just that bit better.

Nice pics, thanks.

I didn't know Jacobi was gay.

It was. a bitter sweet episode. Penelope and Violet stole the show with their antics, and its a shame Stuarts Mum died. At least Freddie is there for him.

There NEEDS to be a third series. Its better than ITV having stupid documentaries as 'Britain's Smelliest Vaginas' etc.

I'm sure it was a different actress playing his mother this time.

The last time we saw her was when she fainted after finding out he was gay but that was another actress.

Awww didnt realise it was the last episode.

Loads of predictable things in there but I think that's the beauty of this is that it's all fairly simple and just a decent watch with nothing too taxing going on.

The characters have been developed over two series so it should surely be quite easy to write another series for them.

Frances de la tour and Penelope totally steal every scene!

I wonder why it was only revealed in the last episode that the other bloke was his brother? Did we care?

Glorious final episode, Such tenderness between Stuart and Freddie in the final scene.

Interesting that Mason is Freddie's brother!

Again, FdlT and Marcia Warren steal the show. The sequence with Penelope and the cake was very obvious but very, very funny. Mrs Chuff and I sat there, poised, waiting for a cake-based disaster. Backing into the door made us roar with laughter. Both times it happened.

I'm so pleased people here are being positive about the show. The response seems to have warmed up as the series progressed.

Hope we get a third series too. Shame about the talking over the silent credits. The BBC this weekend, for once, didn't talk over the silent credits of A Song For Jenny and that made it all the more powerful.

We totally agree. We're so pleased we got into this little gem of a series from the very first episode of series 1 - it's clear to see how much it's grown since then, the little changes they made to it to make it better, and the character development. The ending was so sad (shades of the ending to 'Blackadder Goes Forth' there) and Sirs Derek and Ian played it well - the heartbreak of Stuart was almost palpable when he realised 'Mother' wasn't going to be there anymore to chide him like a child, and Freddie's kindness was exactly right.

In fact, the lack of the usual scale of constant 'bitchiness' between them (which could have been used as the more obvious, but lazier, route to putting a spanner in the works of the wedding) was exactly right for this episode, as was having much of the 'action' mostly focused on the people connected to them (e.g. Violet stealing all the attention looking like a bride!). And as, someone else has said, even the cliched bits felt 'right'!

But I'm glad it's not just us who turned to each other quizzically saying, "Mason's his brother?!" We thought we'd missed something!

If anyone gets any news on this being recommissioned, please post!

Anyone else agree that the wedding should have taken place in their flat?

To be honest I'd prefer that they didn't "go on location" at all. This is a classic British Farce and consequently all scenes should be filmed in their apartment.
