CS: Two of Stuart Blackburn's new characters gone
...now that Kal and Maddeh are no more. But with Tony and Andrea also on the way out....which characters he introduced will still be around at the end of the year?

I think the days of a cast member joining and staying on a soap for 10 years or so, are over. Most actors these days, dont want to be stereotyped these days.
If you think about it, all the longtermers, in, Eastenders, Emmerdale and Corrie, have been there for ages. |

Blackburn vowed that Maddie would be there as long as he was. Come on now Mr Hat, nobody likes a promise breaker.

But if Amy Kelly wanted to leave, there is nothing The Hat could do about it.

If you think about it, all the longtermers, in, Eastenders, Emmerdale and Corrie, have been there for ages. Of the more 'recent' long-termers, David, Fiz, Sean , Tyrone and Maria from Corrie; as well as Andy, Debbie, Vic and possibly David from ED, I can see all staying on in their respective roles for years and years to come.

There's been a few other Stuart Blackburn characters that have already left.

To be fair on Blackburn, two of them chose to leave on their own accord, Tony was probably never going to be permanent / long standing cast member and they had no choice to write Andrea out as Lloyd is leaving. So none of the departures are due to poor characterisation.
Thinking about it, Blackburn has introduced better characters than Collinson IMO. |

I reckon he has at least another 5years in him ![]() Please telling me you are joking, soap-lea. If he stays in charge for even another year the show will collapse. |

Collinson might have dropped a few clangers with Mandy, Jenna, Gloria, Tiny Fireman, etc... but most of the characters he introduced were so much better than Blackburn's: Sylvia, Kylie, Eva, Rob, Kirsty, Beth and Craig, etc.

Bit by bit, Blackburn's losing his grip on CS... Just like Sepp Blatter with FIFA, LOL!
