Time and time again he is uber judgemental and always, always wrong. This time it's his snarky comments about Carla. Now that he's overheard the conversation at Roy's he will really be dishing out. I wish, for once, the shoe was on the other foot and he was on the receiving end and people wouldn't let it go...even when Rita begs them to stop. Whew...feel better now.

Agree with this Norris really is a nasty little old man, he deserves a taste of his own medicine, even when Dennis punched him last year, a punch he has been deserving of for years he was made to be the victim by Rita when in reality it was a miracle that Dennis or any member of the street hadn't done it years ago. Awful character, good actor but i really hate what they have turned Norris into as he isn't just a harmless old gossip, he is nasty with it.

Norris has become awful under Blackburn.

OK, he has always been a fairly irritating character but in the past couple of years, where once he had some light and shade, now he is all nastiness with no redeeming qualities at all.

I dread to think what SB would have done with Blanch were she still around!

Norris isn't even funny anymore, he's just nasty all the time to people for no good reason which is a shame as I would've said he was one of my favourite characters.

TPTB on CS don't "get" northern humour at all... So their attempt's at humour are either OTT farce (which it takes amazing actors and script to pull off) or people just being horrible...

I don't think you can blame it all on Blackburn actually, as the writers should be able to understand what constitutes a funny line and what is just plane nasty...

Norris has always been a nasty piece of work. I know we're meant to find him but there are times when I'm surprised that he doesn't get repeatedly slapped and punched by everyone on the street with his snide comments and judgemental attitude.

I've never understood why people like Norris - at best he's a gossip, at worst he's a spiteful and judgemental troublemaker. I've lost count of the number of times I've thought "If I was serving him, I'd chuck him out" for comments made in the Rovers, and why the supposedly "nice" characters like Rita and Emily hang around with him is just lazy writing. In reality he would be a very lonely old man, because of his behaviour.

Don't start me on that pathetic caricature Mary and her crush on him.

I can't stand the man. He's gone from being just a nosey parker to being downright nasty. Would anyone really miss him if he left. I wouldn't.

i have to admit i do laugh sometimes at some of his comments, but wish he'd back off Carla. it's not the first time he's dished out the dirt and wrongly accused her of things, like when tina died or frank and he's proven time and time again that he's been wrong about her but he still goes at it

Interestingly Norris has gone the opposite way to Blanche!!

When she first returned (99 was it?) she was just a nasty sneering old battleaxe who really wasn't funny (check out her appalling treatment of heavily pregnant Sarah in 2000), but gradualy the ptb realised they could get far more mileage from the character by using Maggie Jones' brilliant comic delivery & made her a lovable old battleaxe instead!!

With Norris they've done the complete reverse!!

SB has a surgery at the back of the Coronation St. set, where he performs personality transplants. Norris was an irritating, quite amusing, nosy neighbour. Now SB has changed him into a nasty, spiteful man. I hope that, when SB leaves, they shut down the surgery and let characters evolve naturally.

I would love to pin point when Norris went from being a harmless busy body into the nasty piece of work he is now. He has no redeeming features anymore and I used to like him/think he was funny.

Why did Des Lennis make his way to the Kabin? Thought he'd wanted to find his missing list, and possibly head home.

Norris is a right gobby scumbag, look how he was at steve and michelles reception wedding having a go at michelles dad for taking ages with the speech why everyone laughed.

If someone did that to my dad, i would shut them right down, it be gold tv when Norris messes with the wrong person and gets a right beating...he is little sewer rat who is no better then the school yard bully.

I wish Norris would die. I agree I don't know why Rita and Emily put up with him. As for Mary
Norris deserves to be lonely for the rest of his life. I don't know why he stays on the Street as he hates everyone so much. He should go and live somewhere remote like a Scottish island. Mind you he thrives on others' misfortunes and gossip!

I think Norris can still be funny but he also goes way too far with his hurtful and unnecessary comments.

He is always the one sticking the knife in. I haven't forgotten his attitude towards Steve without knowing the full story about the bus crash. And now it's Carla turn. The most annoying thing is, she probably won't even get an apology off Norris when the truth is revealed. He will just choose someone else to judge.

You're bang on there. He has been changed from a nosey gossip into a rather unpleasant old git.

He is lonely now, he just doesn't realise it. He will never change. And you leave our Mary alone she is brilliant.

People on Corrie never apologise for wrongful accusations.

After a couple of weeks they are conveniently forgotten by the accuser and the accusee.

Norris - like Katie Hopkins - says the things we all think. And then we all pretend to be shocked when we hear others say them.

Norris was always quite spiteful from day one. He softened over the years but has now regained some of his sharpness from before.

It's character regression rather than a personality transplant in my opinion. However, there is still the light and shade there, he does have compassion for those he believes deserve it.

Agree. What a shame, he used to be really good. He's just utterly vile now.
