Why not complain about Jesse Jane McParland?

People are complaining about a third dog in Jules & Matisse's act, so why not complain about Jesse Jane McParland wiedling a sword?

After all, a kid shouldn't be playing with swords. It's highly dangerous and a much more worthy thing to complain about than a third dog in a acting dog act.

In another thread somewhere I made the comment that people are so busy moaning to ofcom about the dog and low cut dresses... But what about Simon Cowells comment. After Jessie performed he said "I can see you in a TV show beating everyone up- and stabbing everyone" I thought it was an incredibly irresponsible thing for someone in his position to say! I expected to come on digital spy and for people to be criticising it. But no it was all about the dog!
If Jessie's act wasn't dangerous then they wouldn't have kept saying don't try this at home. Sadly I think kids will try it and I shudder to think of past and future accidents it will cause!

Exactly. Even more scandalous, the sword was probably not a real sword either

Exactly. There's bigger possible negative implications of Jesse's act than a third dog in Jules & Matisse's.

She's trained to use the swords, or she wouldn't be wielding them, get a grip.

But the fact that she was trained to use them is far worse than a third dog not being revealed in Jules & Matisse's act. What if it had gone wrong?

They were probably blunt fakes anyway.

They could have been but there was no proof. This is technically a bigger issue than a secret third dog on Jules & Matisse's performance. If people complain about the latter, then surely they should be unhappy about this also?

Blunt or not I stand by it that Simons comments were irresponsible.
Surely martial arts shouldn't be about beating people up and stabbing them?! Simon really is ignorant! There will be people watching the show who think that's sound really cool and will misunderstand what Jessie did.
But no lets just complain about a "fake dog" walking a tightrope. I keep laughing at people calling it a fake dog anyway. It was hardly Scooby do was it!

Digital Spy: It wasn't Matisse on the tightrope. It was Chase.
Chase: And I'd have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you meddling forum members!

The former isn't deceitful in any way shape or form. We were all misled to believe only two dogs were involved in the winners act and three were, if you think this information wasnt deliberately held back then you're wrong. Whether it's a big deal or not is another debate

Jesse playing with swords could lead to injuries. This couldn't. Much more serious matter. The dog complaint is pathetic.

Some people may think a child playing with swords gives off a bad image and is morally wrong. That doesn't make what Jules did any less deceitful or mean spirited

Exactly. Jules cheated, no getting away from it.

Just imagine if Jesse had somehow secretly swapped over with a look-alike during the act and then took a bow at the end as though she had done it all herself. Wouldn't we feel at least a bit miffed?

I don't see any grounds for a moral complaint here and people are being oversensitive.
Even Simon Cowell himself said that it's a good thing because she could have a career in TV shows where she stabs people.

I think what the original poster is trying to say is that why complain about the dog and not the playing with swords- when like you just said a child playing with swords could be seen as morally wrong.

She didn't cheat. Her act always involved more than one dog since the semi finals.

I think it's you and everyone else who thinks Jules & Matisse deceived people who should grow up.

And where was the third dog at the end of her performance in the final? Say it as many times as you want but you cannot deny the facts.

Probably backstage, so as not to ruin the narrative.

I don't think anyone needs to get personal. Dalekbuster is entitled to their view and it is a discussion website after all.

People make it sound like the other dogs were robots! All the dogs would have been trained so they are all still talented. Enough was done by the individual dogs to warrent praise.

She has 147 titles. I'd say they are much safer in her hands than an unqualified adult. What a bizarre complaint to raise.

People never blame Simon for anything. He always gets a pass, and the acts themselves are blamed for everything, if blame comes to the forefront.
