This line of argument holds absolutely no water. Women don't get sexually excited looking at a man's exposed nipples. They don't have Page 3 boys showing just a chest and debates about whether this makes men sex objects. Men don't appear in music videos with strategically covered nipple tassels to get us all hot and bothered. They don't have women going "phwoargh look at the tits on that". We don't imagine ourselves touching and kissing them (other parts admittedly). There's no porn fetishisation of men's chests.

TV codes don't have rules about men baring their chests before the watershed. There's no national debate about whether women can breastfeed in public cos, like, men on building sites take their tops off. Actors don't need the same nudity clauses in their contracts if they're just going shirtless because it won't damage their credibility. Etc etc etc.

I agree it's not exactly the same thing but disagree that females can't/don't get excited by shirtless males. Especially the abs. I see girls having shirtless males on their walls, on the show Arrow for example females on social media go crazy for scenes where the male leads have no shirts on... there's some similar discussion that i've seen going on from females about males abs/chest like how some guys talk of girls bodies.

Again, i do agree with your general point in that it's not exactly the same thing for a male to expose his bare chest that it is for a female to do so.... but i would possibly say that a female showing her cleavage could be along the same lines as male having his shirt off, something to that extent.

I think this is what I've found most interesting lately, the downright prudishness that was shown towards Adjoa, her reasons for being disliked?
