So it seems in the LCN shake-up that CBS Drama, CBS Action, CBS Reality +1 and Horror have all been removed from the EPG.

Sky Arts 2 is also due to close on 9 June.

Will we see any likely channel launches? I'm particulary intrigued if Sky Arts 2 is replaced with another subscription channel in the basic channel package.

The CBS channels are still there, and still streaming, on my box, but the epg says 'No Information Available'. Presumably they will disappear very soon. I have been expecting this to happen since they first began to appear from the transmitter. I was watching Morgan Freeman on The Taming of the Shrew earlier this evening when I saw the announcement that the two Sky Arts channels would become one next week. They were announcing it as if it was a significant upgrade to the existing package, when the service is actually being halved. That's Sky for you.

According to today's Times the budget for the "new" Sky Arts has been increased by 10%.

Not exactly an impartial source!

I assume the CBS channels have gone because they have become available on freeview anyway. Hopefully Youview will give us something new and different soon, otherwise NOW TV and Chromecast makes the Sky channel element on Youview obsolete for me and I may as well downgrade.

They were free, so nothing has really changed. They just come from the transmitter now instead of from the Net. It could be argued that the picture quality has changed for the worse, but I thought it nothing special anyway when online.

The only Sky aspect of YouView that I use is the small selection of channels that comes as part of the Plus Package. Of this, I tend to watch Living TV and Sky Arts more than the others put together.

For me, the big bonus is Netflix, and that will remain available regardless of what package you opt for. It annoys me, however, that Netflix can maintain a stable HD signal on just 3Mbps while the Sky channels suffer from momentary dropouts from a reputed 4 - 5 (and that in SD). The TalkTalk person I spoke to last week suggested upgrading to fibre optics, which I intend to do, but that isn't the answer. As I just wrote, Netflix can do reliably it on 3. It must be to do with how they are streamed.
