It's upsetting to read the negative tweets about the gay kiss in last night's episode of… https://instagram.com/p/3b21L9DqMv/

It's 2015 for goodness sakes. I think EastEnders should be praised for showing that scene last night. I thought the scene was well written and acted.

I don't really understand his point about Ronnie Kray.

It a metaphor I guess, as he was gay, not sure I would of used a violent criminal to get my point across though.

But still it's ridiculous that people are complaining.

Oh yeah I know, but it sounded like Harry was a fan of him or something... Wtf? It's like he was saying well Ronnie was gay so being gay must be good as a result of that. Unless I read it wrongly or something but I read it a few times. There are a million examples of gay men who aren't violent criminals that he could have used.

He meant you wouldn't have dared gone up to him and called him gay.... It wouldn'nt have worked with a picture of Antony Cotton

Yes but his sexuality didn't mean he was no less terrifying.

he was a closet gay and an Eastend gangster. he mostly hid his sexuality.

I wouldn't make homophobic comments but to be honest I don't want to see two lads getting passionate on tv. Each to their own I just don't want to watch it.

Before you all jump, I don't particularly like watching two hetro people getting passionate on tv either. If I wanted to watch that knd of thing I would be looking elsewhere not an early evening soap.

should maybe change my user name to prude

Oh ok. But I'm not sure how that relates to people complaining about two young men kissing? Sorry, I'm probably being really thick.

Just read the comments on the EE Facebook page, absolutely horrifying to see how many people are still homophobic.

I love Harry Reid's work on EastEnders, I think he's the best Ben yet, but that point he was trying to make about that Kray twin was stupid.

I've just had a look, it really is quite shocking how casually so many people drop in comments about oh blah, don't want to see this sort of thing on a family programme, blah blah blah.

I know, or even the ones like 'it was so disgusting/disturbing, I switched the TV off, never watching EE again' etc.

I don't why people are so surprised. Just because western media likes to portray homophobes as old people when It's not just them and celebrities like to praise the latest person to come out, doesn't necessarily mean that they talk for the people. Plenty of people I know, ranging in ages, have negative opinions about the gay community.

Yeah... wtf is wrong with people? Who would seriously give up watching a show they enjoy because of one scene of two men kissing? Sad.

Excatly, Loads of young people (mainly male) make casual homophobic remarks or hold prejudiced views.

There's some utter knobs on social media. Bit ironic they're watching a show invented by a gay bloke, produced, storylined and written by gay blokes isn't it!
