ED - Laurels STD

I kinda thought she was gonna be pregnant! Not quite the drama and impact I was hoping for!

Chlamydia can leave you infertile. However in Laurel's case it was treated pretty quickly so she should be OK. The disease also often has no symptoms. I was surprised she told Marlon. After all her shenanigans and wanting his forgiveness I think she might have kept her mouth shut. I'm not saying she should say nothing, I'm just surprised she told him. Not only that but she clearly didn't use a condom which is probably why Marlon was so angry. She risked catching a disease or even a few. I think she got the morning after pill?

Yes, she take. The morning after pill.

Given how drunk Laurel was I'm not surprised she didn't use a condom, i doubt she carries them around with her considering she is married so it would have been totally up to him and he didn't seem the type to care.

I think it was supposed to show that because she is so needy, all she can see is what she needs. At that time she needed to honour her promise to Marlon that she'd tell him the truth.
It ties in with the idea that seeing as he didn't take the news well - because of the timing - she can go back being a victim. She can think that seeing as she told the truth, but Marlon was so mean to her and everyone is against her, why is she even bothering to do the right thing anyway?
And hey ho hand me that bottle of vodka.

Pretty true to life for people who have such issues, I reckon. It's never their fault - in their own head.

Good post. Laurel even had Ashley to blame for encouraging her to tell Marlon the truth, thereby exonerating herself from any responsibility of wrong doing.

Marlon is a plonker. Laurel is always going on about her and so is Marlon. They deserve each other, when the are together at least they aren't making two other people miserable. Horrible pair.

Good post. It's all about what she wants and needs right now, she accused Harriet of only thinking about her own feelings regarding Ashley's situation, but Laurel admitted herself that Ashley has to stay alive and get better in order to help her. She's not exactly considering how everyone else around her feels, or she wouldn't have started drinking again, knowing it'd cause more hassle. Plus, after her assaulting Marlon badly enough that he needed surgery, is it a surprise that someone might put two and two together to think she might have lashed out again? She'd "never" hurt Ashley, but she'd hurt Marlon, her current husband. She really doesn't have the right to judge Harriet, or even Victoria, after what she's done during her drinking binges.
