It ties in with the idea that seeing as he didn't take the news well - because of the timing - she can go back being a victim. She can think that seeing as she told the truth, but Marlon was so mean to her and everyone is against her, why is she even bothering to do the right thing anyway?
And hey ho hand me that bottle of vodka.
Pretty true to life for people who have such issues, I reckon. It's never their fault - in their own head.”
Good post. It's all about what she wants and needs right now, she accused Harriet of only thinking about her own feelings regarding Ashley's situation, but Laurel admitted herself that Ashley has to stay alive and get better in order to help her. She's not exactly considering how everyone else around her feels, or she wouldn't have started drinking again, knowing it'd cause more hassle. Plus, after her assaulting Marlon badly enough that he needed surgery, is it a surprise that someone might put two and two together to think she might have lashed out again? She'd
"never" hurt Ashley, but she'd hurt Marlon, her current husband. She really doesn't have the right to judge Harriet, or even Victoria, after what she's done during her drinking binges.
