Stephen is 6ft 3 and is a very big bloke but I had to laugh when he was dwarfed by Greg Davies in the brilliant 'Man Down' this week. 
I wonder if Greg could play a villain or hardman?
A gangster played by a man of his towering size and build could be bloody intimidating in Walford!

They cast a 52 year old actor to play Sharon's (pretend) father? That's ridiculous. Even if he was also a teenager (as Carol was) he'd need to be early 60s as Sharon will be 46 in a few months.

Yes, I agree.
At first i groaned at the idea but once I accepted that Gavin could also have been an ex Pat who knew Ted from London it is a lot less co-incidental. It is also certainly better than the other talked about options like Pete, Arthur etc being her father.

It's a little more plausible but still a huge stretch of credibility and massive coincidence. It's going to be a hard enough sell convincing me why Kathy faked her death and abandoned her family for ten years without throwing this into the mix as well. If it's true which I'm sure it is, Sharon will have the distinctive of having both her natural and adoptive fathers fake their deaths.
But another thought. What if 'Gavin' is infact an alias of Den's? He could have faked his death a second time and took up with Kathy. Ridiculous to the extreme I know, but I said the same about Kathy coming back a few months ago.
