I think his acting has been appalling this week. Has he always been this bad?

Roger Sloman plays Les Coker in case you didn't know who he is.

He's quite funny! Especially when perturbed!

I know older people with similar mannerisms and over-dramatic dispositions, so I guess he's doing okay in my book.

he's certainly different in terms of acting but I like Roger

I love the Cokers too nice to have a a normal elderly couple on the square, i just wish they hadn't ruined it by having this silly affair with Les and Claudette I really think its a shame to be honest

It's weird because even though he is very dramatic & OTT in his delivery, there are actually people who are like this, so it does kinda feel real somehow. It's hard to articulate really.
Personally I find his over dramatic expressions irritating but not esp unrealistic.

Idk if it's bad, it's just different to see someone with such exaggerated mannerisms and speech. It gives him character.

The character is so exaggerated I really like him, he's such an oddball and far from being awful I think he plays Les brilliantly. Fits best in comedy, but keeps up the essence of the character's mannerisms in dramatic scenes. He's EastEnders' answer to Corrie's Mary in my opinion - only slightly less crazy!

I've always thought he was dodgy, he over exagerates everything.

The actor has always been quite like that. He was similar in Bergerac too.

He's utterly shocking. It's kinda funny at times but other times it just takes you out of what's happening.

He has always been terrible. His monotone voice is like nails on a black board.

His delivery last night was quite bizarre. The comparison with Corrie's Mary is interesting as she is the character I loathe most in soap and now you mention it I can see similarities. I think it is less offensive than Mary because we do see Les in a supposedly settled relationship, despite the affair with Claudette of course! So he isn't a complete social pariah like the idiot from Wetherfield .

I've a feeling this Coker anniversary party in July will result in Les' death. I think DTC will want to pull a shock death out during the summer and I think killing him off would give Pam a chance for a big story along with Paul who only after two episodes has settled in well. I also felt last night that Pam and Paul's relationship is very strong that Les isn't really needed, Billy will take over the funeral parlour with Pam overseeing things

He has been dreadful this week. His scenes with Paul was horrendous and very off. As a director, it should of been something you would say CUT and ask to do again.

Actually that's not a bad shout, I could definitely picture that happening.

As for Roger, I like him, but I can never get over that scene in Vicar of Dibley when Roger Lloyd-Pack punched him.

There is a certain tune to his speech isn't there? Almost like he's singing.
I don't know what to make of it. I like Les though. Pam isn't too bad in small doses either.

This would actually be a good twist.

I don't mind him but he's not the best actor. He does exaggerate his mannerisms a bit too much.

Some of the intonation on his dialogue yesterday was just plain weird.
