Taken from reddit:
"Feel free to ask questions about the game, I can answer them. I've tried it on both my PS4 and my PC. One of the benefits of working in a distribution center is that we get access a week early. And unlike reviewers we're not under embargo until the day of release, a very sketchy decision by Bethesda that I now understand having played it." "As far as the game itself there are several problems: The size of the world, the combat (its literally copy pasted from Fallout 3[3] ), the graphics, the terrible story filled with cliches and the simplistic 2 choices they give you at the end, the way the choices you make in the game have almost no impact over the long term, the animation, the terrible dialogue and writing and the AI come to mind. Every single quest has been essentially a fetch quest, only 3 I can remember tried to do something other than telling you to go somewhere, kill something/bring back an object from there. Since its using the same engine that bethesda has been using for year and since the last generation, everything feels incredibly similar and dated. There are a lot of bugs too. Now all of those an be fixed by modders, but no amount of mods can fix what is fundamentally broken with the game: its shallow story and incredibly repetitive quests. There are also good things, especially the crafting system. Its really well done and gives you tons of choices for how to make your weapon. The character customization is amazing, you can spend hours in the face molder and make exactly how you want yourself to look. The game runs smooth on PC, I've had no performance issues. Also I liked one particular follower a lot, easily my favorite follower in any Bethesda game. This will get me crucified with the fanboys as did my criticism of the games graphics in other threads, but **** it." Everybody might want to lower their expectations if this is genuine ![]() I'm still riding the hype wave Even though I know it won't live up to expectations. But it'll be me who decides whether I like it or not

Well, they did say the crafting was great, and that, along with the settlement building is one of the features I'm most looking forward to, also seeing what the new perks are.
Graphics and animations, I sort of already know from watching the gameplay videos anyway and they look fine to me. Map size, also knew it was supposed to be Skyrim sized, which seems big enough. Of course an even bigger map would always be better, but Skyrim was pretty huge. |

I remember reading an article that said they did not compare map sizes with Skyrim or Fallout 3 as there were quite large parts of these maps such as mountains in Syrim and parts of cities in Fallout 3 were completely inaccessible.

Might mean a long time spent on the character build screen at the beginning. Plus some regrets at not choosing certain things for a while. All part of the fun in my eyes.Map size wise apparently there's a substantial water area. Don't take my word for it because I've avoided the map spoilers so far. |

Judging by bits and bobs I've seen, there looks like a real emphasis on allowing you to build some unique characters with the new perks. By unique I mean a little odd

Now the only thing that's going to annoy me is agonising over how to build my character (I kind of do that) Yes, I think I'll be on that character design screen for a while Then I'll start, realise he/she looks hideous and probably start over It's not total OCD-ness, like some people I've talked to on rpg type games, but it's not far off! Ah, well to be honest, I'm just so looking forward to playing something that isn't Forza or Halo 5 that I'd pretty much take any Fallout style rpg type game right now, so it'll be really hard to disappoint me, even if the map is smaller than people were expecting. |

Hello over encumbered slow walking across the map back home ![]() There was a leaked review where it was less than entirely complimentary, echoing some of the issues from the reddit post. But then mentioned, taken from the last line: If youre a "Fallout" fanatic, "Fallout 4" will be more of what you love -- I'm just not seeing what's really in it for newcomers. Not to be a selfish so and so or anything, but that's all I'm looking for. |

Dragon Age inquisition had me start over ooh about six times because of how my character looked different from the editing screen. Some people would see it as time wasted, but me I call it getting things rights

I already loved how the game played and since there clearly still has been visual improvement over previous games, pretty certain I'll be happy with this. |

I had read some reviews that were not praising it at all and there is 1080p footage online apparantly from the PC version that many people do not like.
I think my problem with the Fallout series was that I found certain bits too hard, in both Fallout 3 and New Vegas I got to a certain point where I could not get past the levels. I restarted Fallout 3 a few times, I liked 3 better than New Vegas and I just couldn't do it. Infact that gun thing? you know the one that lets you target certain limbs of the person you are aiming at? I never understood that so most of my time was spent just firing weapons and trying to aim at the head. I just couldn't progress past certain points. |

I'm posting here without looking at other posts so apologies if this has been covered.
There is a spoiler regarding how the game ends being posted in various places to ruin the experience for people. If you care about the story and don't want it spoilt I suggest avoiding the usual places where this may happen. Enjoy the game! |

You ran through most of the game without figuring out VATS?! Oh dear
![]() It was so simple to use as well I actually found the game too easy by the end, because my character was so OP.As for building your character, I spend very little time doing this as I regard it as rather nerdy and time-wasting. I just choose MALE and quickly select a mug that doesn't look like a footballer or car salesman and start the game.

Few early reviews.
IGN - 9.5, Gametrailers - 9.0, Gamespot - 9, Eurogamer - Recommended, Polygon - 9.5. |

i watched the first half an hour of this and Tomb Raider on the YouTube. I think TR looks to be a much more exciting game, although theres little point in comparing them as theyre vastly different games.

I spent most of my 6 years on F3 NOT using VATS. I tried it occasionally but I found it simpler just to blast the bu**ers. I quickly learned which areas the different enemies/creatures were most vulnerable in.

It'd be like playing through Max Payne and never using slow motion. More challenging maybe, but for me, less fun. This new one is supposed to be less dependant on VATS though, and enemies slowly move in VATS now as well, so that's good for people who want to play it as a more traditional shooter. |

Can't wait till this unlocks! Sounds like it might be a bit dated though. They really need to ditch the Gamebryo engine. It's embarrassing not to have seamless interiors in 2015!
