I just noticed I could scrap everything in the area, that gave me a lot more materials to work with. You can eve scrap trees to turn them into wood and any cars in the area into metal.
Far too much of my time has been stuck on the first settlement. Stripped the place bare. Finally found what I needed to finish the food task when trying to do the main mission. So back I went

So back I went ![]() I just spent about an hour trying to figure out it's quirks. One thing I don't understand though is once I'd made the floors and walls, I decided to start over, so stored them all. I then wanted to use them at another settlement, so set up a supply route between them using this perk I have, but for some reason, none of my stored items are showing up at the new settlement

What was waiting inside was enough for me for one night Without giving too much away.

I've played about an hour or two so far but i'm not really feeling it yet. I had to fiddle around to get the resolution right and now I can't see the locks when lockpicking so it looks like i'll need to wait for a fix for that. The workbench stuff is all a bit confusing at first glance too and some of the controls feel a bit awkward but i'll get used to it I guess.
Can you get rid of the dog though? I don't really want a dog following me around everywhere and I can't be bothered with the issuing command stuff, i'd just rather be alone .

I'm not sure I can be botherd with all this settlement stuff. I did build a couple of houses but they look like the wrecked shells that were already there. I was hoping it would look new and shiny. Also I am low on copper. Is there a good source apart from hotplates?
I managed to lose dogmeat earlier. The detective guy said he deserved a break and I forgot where I left him. The detective is my new companion but he is a bit crap compared to dogmeat. |

Yes, you can get rid of the dog. I'm the same, I like to go it alone, I even picked a perk that allows me to carry more and have damage resistance while alone. |

Enjoying it a lot so far, although the 'game of a generation' talk I've read in a few places is nonsense.

Very pissed at Amazon, got an email saying "Order out for delivery" this morning, advising me to stay in throughout the day as the postman could come at literally any time, but alas, the game was a no show.
If I was a big fan of the Fallout games I'd be livid but fortunately this is a case of just being extremely curious rather than incredibly hyped, hoping I get a feel for the game tomorrow (if it comes tomorrow) |

Ok, so I've only just realised using VATS builds up a critical hit meter that you can use by pressing X (On Xbox) when VATS is active.

I'll pay close attention to the critical hit meter tomorrow but tbh i'm getting one hit kills anyway at this stage, so i'll probably hang onto it until i really need it. |

Honestly, i have no clue what i'm doing in this game but i'm enjoying the learning process. I only discovered VATS 4 hours into the game and found it devastatingly effective with the rifle. Infact it got me out of a tight spot when 3 guys turned up throwing fire bombs left right and centre, so that was cool.

Very large disparity in the reviews on Metacritic for the PC.
Critic reviews 87 out of 100 User reviews 4.7 out of 10 Xbox 87,5.5 PS4 87, 5.6 Anyone have problems with this game ?..I love fallout, but maybe ill wait till it's patched. |

Thats because critics give any anticipated game from a big studio rave reviews they will also ignore technical problems which users wont. It probably is not as good a game as reviews have been making out and technical issues are bad which the reviews have not told anyone about. You also get disgruntled fans of series who give low scores if it doesnt reach their high expectations of how a new game in a series is changed |

Well to add to the above, if voters on Metacritic like a game, it's a 10, if they dislike it, it's a 0.
If the game is on the fanboys console of choice, it's a 10, if it's on the opposition it's a 0. Critics have been playing the game for the past week or two. Users have been playing it for a day or two. Critics have at least played the game, users may or may not. Metacritic is broken. Anyone can submit any score for anything. It's not a true reflection of the game right now but will probably iron out over time. |

So essentially same old, same old. If you love fallout (and other Bethesda RPGs) you know what to expect, so don't hold back. |

Very pissed at Amazon...
I haven't paid for Prime in ages due to a few late deliveries... I've also had a few random postage refunds when I've not paid for postage, too

This game looks good to me but I've tried to play new vagas and just couldn't get into it, the combat got me everytime, I don't know if it's the same in 4, wish there was a demo or game trial. |

Although I like the idea of a dog following me about, I didn't want to waste any of my stimpacks every time he gets injured, so told him to stay where it's safe.
I'm not very good with these type of games, but I am enjoying it so far. Mainly just been exploring and looting though. |

Right, I spent all evening playing this game yesterday (just turning Sanctuary into a settlement with a bit of exploring the surrounding area) - it officially has me hooked.
I can see where early reviews are coming from now - it doesn't have all the visual bells & whistles expected, and coming from Witcher 3 & MGS V, it is VERY noticeable. However, the gameplay does compensate for that. Initially I was watching my FPS counter and looking at shadows etc. Now I'm more concerned about making sure there are enough people to tend to my tomato crop. Only things are the crashes. Had 1 CTD in about 12 hours of gameplay - that's okay with me. Also, at this point, it's vital to quicksave before you use a terminal or get into a lift - that's not a problem either really - takes a few seconds to reload if things go awry, but I hope it gets fixed. My word... there goes my life. |
