I think the crits always hit too, so you could use it to take down an enemy at range if your accuracy is low. You sort of tap it while you're in the motion of firing.

So basically it's not a game score, it's retard-o-meter.

Only spent a few hours on it last night (got dog, rescued settlers, got back to Sanctuary) but finding it great and pretty similar to Fallout 3. Quite difficult in places but at low level I expect that.
Tonight I have to work out how to build things and create a settlement, looking forward to it

Although I like the idea of a dog following me about, I didn't want to waste any of my stimpacks every time he gets injured, so told him to stay where it's safe.
If not don't worry about it: Dogmeat can't die. |

Eh? Does the dog getting hurt result in the player getting hurt?

For now on the Xbox one/ps4 consoles, that honour goes to the Witcher 3. I can't see Fallout 4 surpassing it.

Put quite a few hours in so far. Only had a few hiccups such as a major frame drop at the Museum and then a deathclaw spawning under the map and annihilating me.
As a Fallout veteran I'm really enjoying it, not sure what all the hate is about tbh. One problem I do have though is inventory space. Like in FO3 and NV, if you had multiple weapons you could repair them all into 1 and it'd clear some space, is that option not available here, or am I missing something? |

Really? I hated Witcher 3
Loving this though, feels like Fallout 3 too which is great as I preferred that to NV. As for items, you can store junk in your crafting table and I built a couple of floor safes next to the crafting table to store weapons, armour etc. I just go back every now and then to drop it all off until I get access to stores to sell all my weapons. |

Very pissed at Amazon, got an email saying "Order out for delivery" this morning, advising me to stay in throughout the day as the postman could come at literally any time, but alas, the game was a no show.

Personally, I didn't find the scenery in the Witcher 3 to be as impressive as in Fallout 4, and the game just didn't grab me. I didn't like the combat either, but really like it in Fallout with VATS.
Did a mission the other day where I was running around like a detective in a trench coat, looking for clues on where someone was, and running through the wasteland in broad daylight just looked spectacular. The sense of scale is really immense in this game. The character models in 3rd person and in cutscenes look brilliant too, especially when you consider how many millions of combinations of character design, and weapons and armor you could be wearing, and I'm sure we'll see some pretty epic settlement building online once it's been out a bit longer. |

Graphically and story-wise (so far at least), Witcher 3 runs circles around this. But both games have less than perfect combat. I am enjoying the world of F4 a lot though, and like Skyrim it gets more fun the the longer you go on for.

WItcher 3 was amazing. Its better than Fallout 4 in pretty much every aspect and completely blows its out of the water when it comes to characters, quests, story and graphics. I don't think that is because fallout is bad (its not), but because the Witcher 3 was exceptionally good. Easily the best game of this generation.

Witcher 3 didn't grab my attention, but I can acknowledge it's a well made game, personally for me Fallout 4 is better, that's just my preference though.

I didn't like witcher 3 either, I didn't like the controls and little things like the speed he ran, I found myself missing gates into houses. Never put much time in it in the end.

With Witcher, it seems to be the conclusion of the Bloody Baron story that gets people into it, so if you didn't get that far I would recommend giving it another go. |

My wife has taken pity on me and given me my Fallout 4 early! But the first thing it tells me is that it needs a 500 Meg update! WTF, let's hope we're not going down the Destiny route here.....

Got my copy yesterday lunchtime. Although, I've kind of been putting off playing it to increase the anticipation. Quote:

They're pretty epic.![]() Had my first major glitch stuck in an elevator which didn't move. Had to reload the whole game. Not too shabby after a few days and this being a Bethesda game. |

Starting to enjoy it a bit more now. I don't know if it was patched overnight or anything but it seems to be running a lot smoother today so that helps.
I still haven't got a clue what i'm doing with all the workstations but I think i'm about to do the settlement tutorial thing so hopefully it'll all make sense soon. Really want to get rid of the dog though!! It's constant panting and pattering gets on my nerves! |
