I think you need to put your mobile phone in the Pip Boy as I don't think it has a screen.

I think you do, because from what I heard on Youtube it uses an app, then the touch screen on your phone.

And I'm going to hazard a guess it will only work properly with an iphone.

Yeah you need a phone for it to "function" but it comes with a picture and some buttons light up if you want to just display it without a phone in it.

I'm interested to see the box it comes in because that looks nicer than the Pip Boy.

The Pip Boy edition is pretty much sold out everywhere.
I hope Game don't mess up with their orders, because they're giving a lot with their Pip Boy Edition. A free bobble head and T shirt(if you were one of the first 10,000) it's kinda a too good to be true offer.

Well Game sent me an email confirming I get the 'extras' so if it turns out I don't I'm kicking off big style.

I haven't had an email confirming the extras. I've just got one about cancelling my order and to rejoin to their club,(I didn't) then another email saying they made a mistake and I'm already a member of their Fallout club and they got my deposit.

I still can’t believe this game is coming to be honest, its surreal. I have spent the last few years watching headlines just to hear it is being announced, now all this info is blowing me away a bit. In my many years of gaming I have never looked forward to a game on this scale. Bethesda really know how to release a game without this two year hype rubbish, I love the way they lock themselves away for four years then release a massive title a few months later.

I have tried to not watch too much as want to be surprised but what I have seen has looked very encouraging, stuff like the base building and weapon/armour modding. With every title they always make a significant move forward, so we have every reason to believe FO4 will outshine Skyrim technically.

The graphics don’t bother me at all, in fact I think it looks great and many people will wonder what they were moaning about once they see it during game play. My only slight concern is the voiced protagonist, I can do without the constant commentary if when you look at stuff the character comments, I think that could get irritating, I am guessing there will be an option to disable that.

Anyway, roll on November, I am just glad its coming out this year.

I was thinking about that myself. Oblivion and Fallout 3 were announced years in advance, Skyrim about a year, and Fallout 4 about 6 months in advance. This is probably the shortest announcement for a game in recent times, barring the annual Assassin's Creed and CoDs.

Well said. I'd be perfectly happy with 'more of the same', graphics included. F3 was so good I'm thinking of ressurecting my 360 just to carry on playing it (even though I've played it down to the bone twice!). I've never known a game grab me like F3.

yeah FO3 is probably my all time favourite game, I know its not perfect but no other game has had me absorbed in a world in the same way. Skyrim came close with its sheer scale but I think I just prefer the fallout setting and weapons. It doesn't seem to get boring either for some reason, whereas Skyrim became a chore (after a few hundred hours though!). One thing is for certain, they have a job on their hands topping FO3, I always wondered how they would do it so am looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

was Skyrim a year away? I thought it was sooner for some reason as I remember thinking the release was pretty near the announcement.

Only problems I had with FO3's graphics were the lack of facial details and the short draw distance. The graphics look upgraded, but not 'cutting edge', which is fine as AC: Unity had cutting edge graphics and was a disaster on the PC. I'd prefer it looked pretty good and was huge, rather than amazing and small (the order 1886).

Same here. Decent-looking, with a big map (all explorable all the time) and a solid frame rate.

If anyone is interested FO3 is being included with the Xbox One version of FO4, I guess this will be the original 360 version through backwards compatibility.

Consoles confirmed FPS cap.

Fallout 4 is 1080p & 30fps on Xbox One and PS4. Resolution and FPS are not limited in any way on the PC.

It really isn't but I guess console gamers don't have a choice.

And personally don't care either. the game will be great whether at 30 or 60.
