Anyone come across a withered ghoul yet? That thing absolutely destroyed me

I became a bit of a sadist with one of the tougher ghouls yesterday when I managed to take both of its legs off with a land mine and it didn't die so I then did the same with its arms and it still lived.
It's a good tactic against more difficult enemies. Take out a leg and they can't chase you. I'm now lvl 27 and it's time to go to for aesthetics over practicality with my armour. This mismatching of the armour with perks is starting to annoy me a little. So, it's either a full set of lightweight combat or synth armour. On top of my other PA suits, I now have a PA frame to do with as I please. Also found 10 fusion cores at University Point. Every Synth seemed to be carrying one. |

I started again as I found going the standard guns route a bit boring, so I made a stealthy melee character who's using a modified pool cue as a main weapon. Hopefully I'll find a decent knife or sword. I'll keep a silenced pistol and sniper rifle in case I need some ranged damage, and I'll put a point or two into explosives. Here's my starting SPECIAL:
STR 8 PER 4 END 1 CHA 1 INT 2 AGI 7 LCK 5 With bobbleheads and the SPECIAL book I can raise some stats to get to the perks I need. I had big problems with some mirelurks around level 5, but apart from that it's been quite fun and surprisingly easier than using guns so far. |

Yeah I'm finding the spawns annoying too. Sometimes I'll be fighting and then something spawns right behind me out of nowhere.

In ES games they always repopulate the dungeons/buildings etc. Fallout never did. With the high level cap it makes sense that places would repopulate. Also makes sense in that why wouldn't they? Empty building = nice safe place to set up shop. |

Has anyone else had a problem with their companion randomly attacking them, forcing you to kill them or reload?
I have Piper and have the perks for being in a relationship but whenever I go near a location called Cabot House and try to kill the robots outside it randomly asks me to send her to a settlement and no matter what I do she goes crazy and tries to kill me |

Wow, bloody mirelurks!!
Anyway, had to completely restart after getting to about level 11. Somehow got roped into to doing a quest involving a mirelurk queen, and to put it bluntly, i had no chance! Hows the best way to follow this game? as i find myself in places way above my level and in quests way above my level. |

I don't bother with companions, they're just too annoying.

I don't know what power source to use as you can't use a generator. It's all confusing! only half of my house lights up just now lol |

Strange thing happened.....Found the 'Cult' which expect you to hand over all of your possessions to join, so I thought why not. Stood there in my pants, only for the moment the cult leader began to speak again after I stripped, mid sentence he was blew up by an air raid in quite a mess straight in front of me from the Brotherhood of steel.
Low and behold I was quite shocked, checked outside and everyone else was dead, took my possessions from his body and back stepped slowly out of the room. Has anyone else completed that side mission? Probably a con in the end but you never know. |

Bought it tonight myself and wondered the same thing. It's connected/not connected to the fuse box in the corner on the wall. Just above the work bench I think? If you have the junk you can add more connectors that connect by wires to it, and some are already connected to it as you buy the place. Pretty sure it's all under the lightbulb section. Guess it beats having wires hanging around at eye level.
I did try to add more connectors but it still never lit up the room I do wish there was more ready made houses like in fallout 3! I'm useless at making my own house and don't want a crappy shack. |
