It rains a bit too often for my liking. One of the reasons I loved wandering around F3 was the dry, dusty sunshine.
Anyhow. Could someone tell me the proper way of assigning someone to tend a crop? I've done it successfully a few times, but more by random clicking than anything else. Can you assign later or does it have to happen when you plant the crop? Thanks. |

You could try building a staircase up there and see if you can still get into it perhaps?

My Sanctuary settlers house has now expanded to 2 floors, I have a separate bowling alley and bar for their entertainment, and a shopping mall. I only have about 15 settlers and 32 defence, is that too low? What is the ratio for settlers vs defence?
Finally got to Diamond City at level 21 (got distracted on exploring/settlements), but I need a place to call my own there. I looked through Henry Cooke's place after his quest but everything still shows up in red for stealing so can't use that. Someone mentioned there is a house there but who do I buy it from/how to get it? |

You still need a frame to place the new bits on though. There's an empty frame at Revere Array in one of the dishes. Quote:

Plus, as said before, why wouldn't people move into vacant buildings. New settlers turn up out of nowhere, so why not raiders, muties etc? Quote:

My Sanctuary defence is currently 302. So, yes, that's low.

Go up on the lift to the mayor's office and speak to his secretary, it's 2000 caps. I don't know if there is a quest that'll get it you free though.

It's the only way to have the ability to reach any decent level. im level 52 right now and still getting wiped out because all the enemy's have scaled up with my level loads of super mutant overlords and primus along with chared ghouls, children of the atom etcPlus, as said before, why wouldn't people move into vacant buildings. New settlers turn up out of nowhere, so why not raiders, muties etc? i just think if it says cleared i think it should mean cleared or why bother putting it on there? its not just new ones moving it it was literally like for like exactly the same enemys in exactly the same places. i think i just preferred fallout 3 where it remembered and you could clear areas so they were safe to go back to, you could actually finish the game |

I've only been attacked in Sanctuary once so I figured it was a pretty safe place.
You've scared me now ![]() ![]() As other people have said that enemies spawn within the settlements I have turrets facing inward as well as around the perimeter. But, as with our manager LVG, great things are born from a solid defence. I had my first attack on Sanctuary yesterday. vs my 302 defence was a lonely Super Mutant armed with a board. He's now holier than the Pope. Quote:

Or maybe have a choice to reset like with Far Cry's outposts. |

Reached level 47, pretty much left with just radiant quests now. It's been mentioned in a few articles, but I wish there was some kind of system that could gently guide you to one-off quests. Despite wandering around for hours I never find anything except random enemies to dispatch (who will respawn later anyway).

I'm glad I'm taking it slowly. I'm at 90+ hours and only lvl 34. Only just done the first part of the main quest. Discovered last night that the signal towers can be switched on to reveal local radio signals/distress calls . Lead to me finally finding a Railway Rifle (only have 11 rounds though). Did have to battle through 2 Overlords and 2 Legendary muties. Although I did pick up my 14 power armour on the way, so that helped.

I was angling towards building settlements and have invested in the charisma stat & perks but... I'm starting to feel like I just can't be bothered with it, especially if they're prone to attacks.
Bit like the gang territory warfare in GTA San Andreas, it just became a grind having to constantly stop what you're doing to travel across the map and repel an attack. |

Don't get into building settlements if your prone to get addicted to doing pointless stuff, I like me. I think I've sunk hours into it because I feel sorry for the folks without any decent homes or protection.
At the moment I'm building a huge staircase to the top of a broken highway to build a better house for a family and building a steel wall around town for the ghouls living there. |

Only just added OZ to the supply chain so now I can build a bit more there. Nearly 100 hours in and I've had 3 attacks. Well, 4, but I instigated the 4th one by luring 2 Mirelurk Kings and 2 Mirelurk Hunters to my settlement to assist with killing. 1 Super Mutant attacked Sanctuary, 2 Raiders attacked Greentop Nursery and 1 Alpha Deathclaw attacked The Castle. None of them even got close and were dead before the alarm sounded. High defence stat ftw. RE: GTA:SA - On my first playthrough I decided to clear all the gang territories (except the little sliver to the North in San Fiero that you couldn't get to) before carrying on with the story, only to have to do it all over again later on. <facepalm> Quote:

Has anyone managed to get the 100% settler happiness achievement yet?
I'm trying to get my settlment up to 15 at sanctuary to get it. However the population has actually gone down from 12 to 10 and happiness has gone from 87 to 81. Plenty of food, there are plenty of beds, power, food and water and yet no one else appears to want to come and settle there. I have a radio beacon as well and all houses have lights and a radio. What more do these people want. |

Stats - 16 settlers, 96 power, 60 food, 96 water, 302 defence, happiness 79 |

Do you not keep running out of rare building materials like copper? I think that's stopping me from really giving it a go, I just assume I'm going to run out of everything except steel & wood, so I can build shells but not power anything or make anything of interest.
I'm about level 12 btw, get about 10 hours per week tops to play anything so it's slow going. |
