My guns have suddenly stopped doing any damage. I was
Spoiler
when I noticed my guns were doing zero damage neither were my companions. I tried grenades with no effect as well. The only thing that was any use was my power fist.

So, hmm, it looks like F4 is crap, but will it gain anything with the DLCs? I mean I tried playing it but it died on my PC all to often and I couldn't even join the BoS because the floor didn't work. There's no dialogues, no plot. I heard that most of the DLCs allow you to play that retarded Minecraft more. Is plot somehow improved? Should I wait for GotY or replay New Vegas for the fourth time (which I think is the best Fallout, followed closely by F2 and Tactics)

Sony aren't allowing mod support for Fallout 4 or the Skyrim remaster on PS4

From Bethesda

After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.

It's as if it's the end of the world on facebook cause no (for now at least) mods on PS4. Way I look at it? So what? It's only a game at the end of the day

I own Fallout on both consoles but never was fussed about mods to be honest. It's silly Sony not allowing them but I don't get folks losing their minds about it. It's not like many other games have console mods.

I have this on the Xbox One and I have no interest in mods, but more options for gamers is never a bad thing. Odd decision by Sony but then again they didn't allow EA access on their console because they think it's not value for money for customers.

I'm quite bummed about the mods not happening on PS4. Not just for Fallout but Skyrim also. I don't like playing single player games on my PC so I've never played them with mods and was looking forward to installing some. Skyrim in particular. Was hoping to install mods that make destruction magic actually worth bothering with.

Some good news for PS4 owners, especially Pro owners. Native 4K Skyrim & 4K support for Fallout 4 (not specified if upscaled or native)

Just purchased this for £14.00 (not including delivery price) from Amazon. I tried playing Fallout 3 but after leaving it for a while I couldn't get reimmersed and I'm now spoiled on current gen so can't tolerate some of the old motion capture (or lack there of). This is my second chance to fall in love with the world of Fallout.

I'm a Fallout noob and was wondering if the more experienced players have any tips on how to spend skill points and perks? This is a Bethesda game so I know it's not possible to be good at everything (and that the game doesn't bother telling you this). My special started out as follows IIRC:

S - 5
P - 5
E - 6
C - 4
I - 6
A - 1
L - 1

I have now reached level 2 and have a point to spend and wondering what I should spend it on. I want to be someone who deals heavy damage both with my guns and my fists and can take heavy damage too. I also want high intelligence.

First impressions:

The good:

+ Much better than Fallout 3 which I couldn't finish due to the ugly, brown look of the world, the depressing tone... and the boredom.

+ Like the tone, feel, and look of the world in its own right. Very Bioshock Infinite. Graphics stunning as always from Bethesda.

+ The whole settlement building thing is awesome. Sometimes I just spend hours going around tidying the place, putting light bulbs in etc Can't wait to see what it all looks like once I'm done.

+ Weapons feel better.

+ Like the way the game encourages you to be a bit more of a generalist than previous Bethesda titles (although I'm currently going for the tank)

+ Glad your character can talk now and there seems to be more expression in NPCs' faces (however wooden it still is)

+ Like the power armour, makes you feel like a badass. From my understanding this was something you always obtained at the end of Fallout games. I'm at level 16, have done 2 main missions, and have only had to use my power armour twice so far so I think I'm doing a good job at preserving the fusion cores.

+ The UI is better.

The bad:

- The game is a technical mess. Bethesda all too often gets a pass from their fanboys but that's changing so now they're not sending out review copies in order to hide bugs. Even something as simple as picking up an object takes a few tries due to the unrefined camera mechanics.

- Loading to go into buildings on current gen? Um, no.

- Who needs jet when the game's erractic frame rate will slow down time for you?

- Saving is still awful. it still doesn't autosave when you discover new locations or when you fast travel! And because the player can't run away from combat you have to keep saving at every turn just in case you get caught in a tight spot which is immersion breaking.

- The tutorialisation is still very bad. I frequently use Google to find out certain things and as usual I'm met with people on forums arguing with each other because they don't know either.

I been playing this on survival with all DLC and it's an incredible game, I really can't see how you could see otherwise. It has it's faults dialog and story wise but as an immersive world where you can do what you like its unparalleled. People don't talk enough about what this game does right.

I heard complaints about it not being an RPG, but feels like one to me, I made my own stuff and have micro managed my survival in the world. I prefer the perk system, loads of choice in direction and its down to how you play if you want to make it more interesting.

The faults to me are the voiced protagonist and dialog but that doesn't really effect my enjoyment of the game, hopefully they will drop that next time. With more dialog options and more variation in missions this game would have been perfect. As it is its one of the best games I played, bearing in mind I am playing with most bugs fixed, survival and DLC a year after release. You can't really go wrong if you play it now, but it's in depth and you need a strategy on character builds, don't put the effort in and you won't get much back.

Use http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Fallout_4 to avoid any forums. The Nukapedia has everything you should need to know, there is also an app version you can get via the App store or Google Play.

As for saving, there is an option in the Settings to increase the Autosave to every 5 minutes, also when you Wait or sleep. Also, your experience will change vastly if you're on Survival mode or using mods- just a thought.
Just curious, something about your post tells me you're playing on a PC, correct? If it's an Xbox or PlayStation, then i apologize.

Even 5 minutes is too long. As it can take you 4 minutes to travel somewhere so if the game crashes (which this game did in the first 4 hours of playing when loading to go out the door...) then you'll have to travel those 4 minutes again. Also it's not necessarily about how often it saves but when. It makes no sense not to save after fast travelling. If something goes wrong e.g death or crashing that means the game has to load from the last save and when you fast travel it has to load again! It's cringe worthy to discover a new location , die there then have to travel to discover it again with the 'epic you've made a discovery' musical cue playing again. Witcher 3 has excellent saving considering how much content is there. It saves after fast travel too. Plus going in and out of buildings is seamless.

Manual saves are supposed to be used in case of crashes, not as a substitute for auto saving. In the 90s they introduced memory cards to PS1, and then eventually you could save manually within a game and then finally auto saving. Bethesda takes their players back to a time when you didn't have that luxury and this isn't Heart of Darkness - there is too much to lose here.

The fact of the matter is the saving is poor because the engine simply can't handle it .

Survival mode sounds brutal and awesome (and where non auto saves would be appropriate)

Thanks for the link, will refer to that in future.

I thought it did save after fast traveling? And it's dead easy to quicksave? Am I thinking of FO3 or something?

Quicksave was F5 for me on PC, quick 3 cm movement of my index finger and all was good. On Console it's the default option when you press pause, also, 2 firm presses with a finger. I don't see why they're complaining lol.

Because if you understood my post you'd realise the issue isn't how you save it's when.

Not always! But that might be one of the game's many bugs. I'm on ps4.

The game never saves after fast travel. It saves at the point you use fast travel. ie when you left, not when you arrive.
If not having an auto save afterward bothers you, use quick save once you're there.
And 5 minutes too long? If the game constantly saves your progress every minute there'd be no sense of danger or threat of loss.
Of all the issues Fallout 4 has, the save points are way down the list.
