The Songs that should never have been Number one
I bet they have been hundreds of songs over the years that reached the number one slot but never really deserved to be there I can think of a few like Bob the Builder The Crazy frog song and Mr Blobby Can you think of anymore songs that should never have been Number one

OMI - Cheerleader.
A so called "catchy" line in a chorus and nothing else to offer. |

I think with certain artists who have had huge singles their #1's allways seem weird like Part of Me Katy Perry being number 1 but Firework, Dark Horse and Hot And called only being top 5.

Rita ORa also has many I'm amazed that such a mediocre artist can just so easily bag a #1 but could anyone actually name them?

Ant and Decs 'Get Ready to Rhumble', entirely because it stopped P!nk bagging a much deserved #1 with 'Just Give Me a Reason'

LOL
Where do I begin? ![]() Peter Andre - I Feel You A song so forgettable, you could listen to it on YouTube and when it's finished you'll have forgotten the melody. LL Cool J - Ain't Nobody A lame cover that benefitted from a quiet week in 1997. Isn't a patch on the Chaka Khan original and plummeted out of the chart about as quickly as it entered. Boyzone - You Needed Me Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!! Geri Halliwell - Lift Me Up/Cheryl Cole - Crazy Stupid Love Imo their worst UK #1s but sadly Emma Bunton's single couldn't rival Ginger. Proof that you don't have to be an amazing singer to top the UK chart, just whore yourself all over the UK press like an attention seeking wannabe. Oxide & Neutrino - Bound 4 Da Reload becoz dis song is shit innit m8? Blazin' Squad - Crossroads Because it was an insult to Bone Thugs N' Harmony's fantastic original. 3 Of A Kind - Babycakes Because chavs should not be allowed in Woolworths. I could list at least 100 in total but they're all subjective. The ones above really didn't deserve their one week at #1 though. |

Release Me - Engelbert Humperdinck
Kept The Beatles best ever single off the top spot, which was Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever. |

I was 10/11 when that came out and I hated it even then.
![]() That's made me think of two more. The Firm - Star Trekkin' Spitting Image - The Chicken Song Both songs I hated as a child. Star Trekkin' is still a song I don't like if I hear it. I can tolerate a bit of The Chicken Song but it still takes me back to a darker time of British pop music. |
