The context was me being worried about the lack of promo, and being told don't worry, something big will happen soon....??! I don't want to get too excited just yet, but it does sound hopeful Anything would be better than what we've had so far!

Kind of exactly the point I was trying to make about his image, at least as it appears to me and how it portrays him which just doesn't fit in with the serious artist I see.

I understand it's light hearted and fun but regardless feel it sends the wrong message!

Just to add to the above, his image as has been portrayed by either x factor, himself, RCA or a combination of the three reminds me of lots of the x factor joke acts! IMO of course!

When he starts singing, he is anything but a joke act and the joke exterior actually probably grabs people in even more when he sings because of the false message the joke exterior portrays.

And there lies my problem, I see a serious artist portrayed as a joke act!

Just to add I'm excited about the album though also concerned with the lack of publicity up to now. What little publicity we have had is the wrong type in my view although there is still time...

I absolutely agree with you dia6olo - and, in fact, when they put that stupid picture of him dressed as a women as his profile picture, I actually said to my good friend, FaustiniFanz - who does a lot of promo work for Andrea on Twitter and FB like me - that you had made exactly this point a day or two before.... People who see Andrea as a serious artist will not appreciate all this silly, childish image that RCA are portraying for him - it is more suited to a childrens' entertainer, or perhaps a very young group like OTY (although I'm not sure that OTY would be happy about being portrayed like that!). People who do like all that silly stuff, are not going to appreciate Andrea's singing or buy his music. They are marketing him to totally the wrong group.

When they changed his FB picture to the one of him dressed as a woman, people were commenting that he was 'disgracing' himself, or asking him why, as a serious artist, he was portraying himself like that... The reaction was not great. People are naive and think that Andrea himself is doing all this. I hope that they pull their socks up and start promoting him properly - like the serious artist he is....

I never seen that they actually changed his picture. Did they keep like that for long? I don't know why they would do stuff like that. I don't mind a little silliness being too serious all he time can be a bit much but there is limit to it. It's like they are targeting him to his younger fans, which isn't really a wise idea. Younger fans can be more fickle.

The fan art thing was probably just a silly idea to get young people involved but it really wasn't the smartest thing. In the grand scheme of things there's no harm done but I hope they don't mess around like that again. The next few weeks are going to be so important marketing/promo wise. I hope those journalists are right and something big is coming! I wan't Andrea to burst back onto the UK scene with a bang!

But he is not in a boyband, with a voice like that he should be being marketed seriously. Yes a little joke a out here and there is ok but to a certain extent.

I had seen something before about him having a hand in the writing. I'm glad to hear he's getting involved in that side.

A lot of it is Andrea we know that it's who Andrea is.

Some of it may be RCA, he's young quirky and likes fun, nothing wrong with that except in my case anyway it leaves me feeling they, be it Andrea, RCA or a combination, are marketing him to the wrong type of listener.

But anyway, just because it doesn't quite sit well with me doesn't mean it doesn't with others so we just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Maybe time is required to find out what type of artist he really is, after all we've seen many artists change their image as time has progressed.

Always knew he belonged in East London deciding to move here must mean theres lots of things in the pipeline anyway so that's great! I think they're getting the video done for the start of radio play (I hope so anyway). It will be interesting to see what they've gone for in the music video. I don't think the photo they've just uploaded is that bad... In comparison to the woman one anyway I'm loving the spotify playlist, great to see some of the inspirations behind the album.

I don't see the problem with the new picture. It's just a picture for his spotify playlist he made up of songs of his choice. I think that's all it will be used for, not a proper promo picture. As just a promo picture it might look strange.

I don't want people manipulating Andrea's image. I feel that he's being manoeuvred into something he might not want. Then I remember how determined, single minded and brave he was when facing up to SCowell. He's twenty one. He'll make mistakes but his talent will shine through. Fingers crossed.

I have been thinking about this, and I think that they are simply trying to market him to a young market - and as I was born in the 70s (and that's as much info as I'll give ), perhaps that is why the marketing doesn't appeal to me, but it does to all the younger fans. I am simply not in the target market I think. Either which way, I've bought so many copies of the album - hard, electronic, signed from every platform - that it won't make any difference to me. I just hope it doesn't put other people of my age and older off of him, before they have even listened to the album. We buy a lot of music.
