Agreed. It will be very interesting to see if X Factor promotes him or not, to be honest I'd prefer it if Andrea distanced himself from it now, I'd like to see the whole show crumble. Simon has kicked everyone off it and hired, in my opinion the worst possible people to replace everybody. I mean that trailer they keep showing is nauseating! What's Louis doing dressing up as a cleaner? Hasn't he got any dignity? Or is he hedging his bets hoping it will all go wrong and he'll be called back the following year? But regardless I am confident that big things are ahead for our Andrea!

Why is Cara Delavigne's vulgar comment on Andrea's twitter site. Physical beauty does not guarantee spiritual beauty or wisdom. This is not the sort of comment I would associate with Andrea. He is never smutty or vulgar.

He's screenshot it and tweeted it to his followers. He probably liked it and found it funny - he had a few tweets before X Factor on another account that got shut down that were quite vulgar and smutty, but I can't remember what they said exactly. Just saw some people talking about it on Twitter after his audition aired.

Edit - Looking at what the tweet said, it's hardly anything 'vulgar and smutty'. It's quite tame.

What do you guys think the chances of Andrea getting a second single are?

If I was judging it purely by how things have gone so far, with GALL having no radio support etc, I’d say the chances were low, because RCA won’t have made enough money from him to justify it from a business point of view. But then I just have a gut feeling there has always been a long term plan, which is backed up by Andrea moving here and things supposedly starting again in September… A second single really is the only way of getting the album back out there, otherwise it will just fade into obscurity. There's so much good material going to waste if a few more singles aren't planned.

I'm trying to remember them! It was straight after his audition, I put his name into Twitter and there were people uploading screenshots of things he'd said! It wasn't anything offensive or mean, it was funny! There was a few that made people think he was gay too - I'm not sure we actually know to this day if he is or not, not that it matters of course, just curiosity and all that!

I would try find them again, but I imagine scrolling back through all his mentions to before his first audition would probably take days! hahaha!

It all depends I suppose on what the plan is for him, if it went purely on sales it doesnt look good but not necessarily fair being as there wasnt so much promotion, but I am holding out for that more promotion for a second single has been the plan all along, with some tv appearances (maybe even an xfactor one )
A tour would be great but other than that I have no clue at all

I vaccilate between three guesses. Is the record company prepared to nurture Andrea slowly, biding their time until the big breakthrough or will they wait out his financial commitment to SCowell and then pull out the big guns or is Andrea just another of the hopeful kids signed to the label, who will be given as little as possible while they wait for one to win the race before they drop the rest. It's not a world I could cope with but I think our boy has extremely useful experience as a singer and determination and intelligence enough to know how to play this game.

Actually I think it was down by 2 million! I can't say I'm in the least bit surprised and I'm very happy to see the show do badly. I have actually watched the last couple of nights (I know I'm sorry Fanstinis I said I wouldn't but there wasn't much else on and curiosity got the better of me). The manipulation has gone to a whole new level we now have auditions full of backing dancers and VTs in the background with zero explanation as to why or how it's happinging. I truely believe this is the last year of X Factor now. When Strictly starts next week it will get crushed. But back to Andrea, let's hope we see a second single and some tour dates soon.

Yes, Jazzy, the manipulation is so blatant that it's insulting to the intelligence. People are sick of being taken for fools.
Andrea has merchandise for sale but it's not very interesting and I think it would be lovely for some of his fans with talent to design a few things that would be inexpensive to produce but attractive to buyers. He will need to make some money to sustain him through the tough times until he makes his big breakthrough.

Have tried hard not to watch xfactor, but it is on in our house so cant avoid it totally. but agree with you Jazzyjaney, the bits Ive seen the manipulation has definitely ramped up a notch, cant believe anything that is on there anymore.

Sorry I've been away for a while guys. Does anybody else have a weird problem where their browser crashes on the DS forums lately? I'll have to try and fix that. Anyway yes. I have succumbed to watching X Factor, well having it on in the background anyway. I was just reading that article that said 22 out of the 24 artists selected for judges houses were talent scouted. Everything just seems so insanely fake it defies logic and completely insults the audience. I think Olly and Caroline doing the live shows will really sink the X Factor for good. I can imagine with such strong ratings from Strictly the BBC will go in for the kill with a direct clash. It will be interesting.

Back to Andrea I really hope we hear about some tour dates soon! Any gigs would be amazing!

I don't hold out too much hope for the stellar success I originally dreamed of for Andrea, JazzyJaney. Cowell makes millions out of the show and tour and I don't think he has much interest in nurturing these kids through to a successful career. The slow burn that diabolo envisions may work for him but there's a lot of risk for Andrea and none for the record company who are, to say the least, very half hearted about promoting him.
Interest has waned on this thread. There are too many youngsters signed to record companies and the only ones with a real chance are the ones who can churn out lots of excellent songs, perform well and then grab the total interest of record companies who will commit themselves to promote them. Halfhearted interest is worse than none at all as it sets up the performers for failure.
