What world do you live in...I mean seriously?

I find it funny, because I'm a bloke and blokes tend to talk like that to each other, but reel it in a bit when in the company or earshot of women.

Marc doesn't.

He doesn't know anything. He was there for 2 mins before he started 'playing his game' and deliberately upsetting people just to get attention. He's so lame as well - his so-called humour is pathetically schoolboy and unfunny. I agree with the OP - what on earth do people see in him? IMO he's not even good looking.
Takes all sorts I guess!

Rather like Simon 'knows' BB is just a game, 'knows' most of the friendships in there are fake, and is stirring it up. Strange, then, that Simon isn't rivalling Marc for 'saviour of the show' popularity.

It's the change in tide of the Big Brother audience, i suppose.

Imagine in the past if someone like Marc had called a female "cumbucket" or putting her on the spot about anal, or saying that her vagina would be on his face... the amount of backlash they would receive. Now it's something to be praised.

The change in tide.

And not for the better in my view.

It's like people just want a cheap thrills fix now, it doesn't matter if it's manufactured or how it comes about. They simply want an argument, something controversial, something raunchy, something that provokes a blatant reaction and nothing else matters. It's the drug and the Big Brother audience are the junkies looking for a fix similar to the gladiatorial bloodsport of old where they wanted blood.

And hr doesn't take himself too seriously. He has not only livened the house up, but also made the dull Hms interesting.

He IS like Rex. To the person who said Rex didn't do things for airtime? Huh? Were you even watching BB9? He was as much as a WUM as Marc.

Two things that come to mind. The messing with thr shopping in BB9. And the two were very similar with the electric suits. Both purposely repeating the shocks of the hms and loving it.”

He's like Rex only in minor, selective, and tendentiously described ways.

I suspect that Marc is incapable of messing with the shopping in as creative a way as Rex, for a start.

One factor is that Marc came in late when some strong dislikes for some of the other HMs were already in place. So when Marc did something against Jack, for example, or Jade, his popularity began to soar.

I agree about the change in the audience, though. I think it first became evident with Gina and Dexter's popularity in bb14. BB 13 was the last series when the audience and this forum responded in the old way.

So by that statement, you must find his "banter" unacceptable.

Come on... it's gross on every level

What anyone says should be evaluated on many levels. What marq says is not intended in an offensive or upsetting way , it is not intended maliceously , its is more intended to be provocative , funny and entertaining in the context of a game show.

A- he's a male. this puts him at a distinct advantage against 50% of the population on reality shows so our man is off to a good start.
B- he's seems far more intelligent than the vast majority of them- if he was asked to spell canoe I doubt he'd come up with 'kun, um ah, um 'oooo' (or however brain of Britain Danny said it)
C- he's not afraid to be upfront from the off and he rubbed a number of the original lot up who were far too comfortable whilst simultaneously being totally unmemorable/ bland.
D- he's clearly worked out and has a better physique than all that remain (superficial but many ladies and gay guys will understandably and perhaps appreciate this so fair play to him)
E- he's made the BB house a s**t load more interesting. Emphasis on the s***! Sure he's a bit much at times but my god he's a hell of a lot more entertaining that the vast majority of them
F- he's had some aggro with Jade from the off, and she wasn't exactly popular with many people as far as I can tell.

I have more but this should do for now. For me I'd say a 'how are Christian/ Danny popular' thread would be more of a conundrum.

He reminds me of Pepper too. I always believed that Pepper's popularity would have declined had he been in the house earlier and I think people will tire of Marc after a few more weeks.

I don't get the OTT comments. Sam and Chloe generally enjoy his company.

Even people like Danny who disliked him on the nighthe centered now spars with him.

Next weeks eviction may be Simon v Sam v Marc and reckon Simon would go.

Really strange how they all would seemingly thank Marc for a punch in the face but they all go after Simon for a lot less.
He's totally dominating the house and everyone wants to be on his good side so he doesn't bother them.

He's popular coz he has made the show watchable, if it was over tomorrow I would be voting for MARC TO WIN. Even the some of the housemates who hated him days ago are warming to him.

BB is meant to be a fun entertainment show and Marc is fast becoming a BB legend. PieFace Jack does nothing except laze around and moan about everything, Joel talks like as if he is giving a speech and Danny is practically invisible since Sarah left and even then he was boring. The truth is the show was dull listening to Harriet whining on about working in a cafe like the world owed her a medal, all four newbies have made the show watchable, Marc being the cream of the crop.

Marc to win as far as I'm concerned.

Everything he says and does is for the benefit of the cameras and the viewers. I can imagine him thinking, "I need attention, I want everything in the house to revolve around me". Doing things like deliberately untidying the house and throwing paper cups around so everyone would tidy up after him isn't him trying to be funny. It's him looking for airtime. Fair enough if people like him, but I can't understand why. I don't think he's "livening up the show" at all. I just find him incredibly grating and not the slightest bit funny. I think the show was just fine without him.”

He is having a laugh, some people do that, it's better then sitting quietly. If you don't like that then you shouldn't be watching a show like Big Brother, perhaps Countdown is more on you excitement level.

The Mark from last year was one of the favourites to win for weeks until he started annoying Christopher, oh and look what last years Mark just tweeted.

Me either but he's the Producers darling at the moment and they tell us on Bots every night how great he is so people believe with what they're told.
They're pulling his strings and promoting him as the saviour of the show.

Last year we were fed the line that Helen had completed her journey and become a nicer person and people were brainwashed into believing it. Did she heck change it was all damage limitation on their part.

Marc is the most honest one in there & the funny thing is, he is less likely to be nominated, despite the fact that he tells them all what he thinks of them. Maybe some of the others should give it a try for a change.”

Oh so this LMAO ,well put !
Every year I want to scream at the housemates not remembering that they aren't all the closest of friends and this is in fact a game and BB plays games with them, and yet Mark is non of this and it's refreshing to see,
I even saw a nice sweet side to him tonight as well although I know he's wrong to call Chloe fat I have known boys like this in the pub,I'm not saying they are right I'm just saying that it doesn't shock or disgust me like a lot of others on here,

Marc? He crude but he is good natured and not really being a bastard to anyone. Just cause the other house mate don't like his personality doesn't make him a villisan

Marc is just a wind up and harmless with it, Conor was a disgusting loathsome nasty piece of work. Plus at least Marc has a sexy voice, unlike Conor, who's voice was just one of his bad qualities. And Conor did get booed on each eviction. If I was in the crowd, not that I would ever go as I don't wear a hoodie so would not fit in, but I would give Marc a huge cheer and even take Marc to WIN banner.

Also, the crowd are usually anti-Irish so I would suspect boos for Marc.

People have a problem in separating what is a good HM and someone you like.

He is undoubtedly a good HM.
