Sharon calling Ben to come to the Vic and using his 'dead' mother to smoke Phil out was terrible! I understand that she wanted to get Phil to admit the truth but pretending that Gordon knew Kathy to Ben was not good. Especially since both she and Ben still believe Kathy to be dead.

Kathy is still alive. So Ben will meet his mum soon. Yeah it wasn't acceptable but Kathy IS alive.

That may be, but Ben and Sharon don't know that. Sharon used Kathy, when she thinks she is dead and knowing that Ben believes Kathy is dead.

I thought it was sick and low from Sharon.

Had Shirley done this there would've been a 10 page thread by now.

I found Ben's excited questioning of Gordon a bit odd as well, as it came across as though he had no recollection of Kathy whatsoever when he was 10 when she died. I get that he would be interested to find out more but it came across like he remembers nothing and has to rely on other people for information.

Oh well, Kathy is back in a few months time. It was the only way for Phil to come clean but he did warn Sharon that she went too far. I did love Gordon's line, "you lot are twisted"

I don't know, it takes a lot to get through to Phil and I think that was the only way to do it. What Phil did was equally horrible so sometimes you have to play dirty. It's a shame poor little psycho Ben had to get dragged into it. Doesn't Sharon know what happened to Heather? She oughta watch her back

Ben has done nothing to Sharon and to drag him into it via his death mother was low. I agree with LHolmes, if Shirley had used these tactics, there would be a ton of threads and comments on how awful it was.

Yeah she the worse person ever really compares to what some have done!

like belittling a rape victim, murdering or raping some one or covering up your daughter murder.

I thought it was epic personally. If Phil is low enough to pay someone to pretend to be her dad, then Sharon has every right to hit back at him in the same way. And it's a good way of keeping Kathy in the conversation.

Low? Like Shirley defending a rapist? Kathy is not actually dead so Ben will be relieved to reunite with Kathy.

So was Shirley shooting Phil. But we've forgotten about that and we shall forget about this .

Residents of Albert Square seem to be doing more and more out of character things these days.

Using innocent Ben as a pawn?

I agreed with another poster that had Shirley done this then she would have been called out on it but I was not comparing their actions as this is about Sharon. It doesn't matter what Ben has done or that Kathy is alive, Sharon doesn't know that Kathy is alive, I just didn't think it was right for Sharon to drag him into her and Phi's games, using his dead mother. (And although I don't condone Shirley's behaviour towards Linda, she isn't defending a rapist, in her eyes. She is defended someone who she believes to be falsely accused of rape, but that has been debated to death and not relevant to the thread).

Of course, I was just saying that I thought it was a little out of order, that's all. If it was any other character than Sharon - from Ian to Phil - then they would be reprimanded on here for it. Not Sharon though.

Grasping at straws much to hate on Sharon, come on at least make it something legitmate we can discuss at least with Shirley it actual valid reasons about her character.

That's right Ell, you make sure Sharon gets her fair share of earful.

To be fair, he was wearing Spare Head 1 at the time.

Sharon was a right bitch tonight

She's done serious harm to Ben who is going to start wondering about his mother. She's let something out the bag regarding kathy...

I usually stick up for sharon but tonight she was a needy pain..

And throwing Phil out his own house was ott

She didn't throw Phil out. Think it was her bag.

Why does calling Sharon out for something that was out of line automatically mean that it is 'hating on her'? And this isn't about Shirley. I actually recall you recently starting a whole thread about Shirley being shocked that Linda won't let her see Ollie, we hardly have any info on that and it was the smallest spoiler yet a whole was created to have a go at Shirley. I am merely saying that Sharon was out of line tonight.

No one has said she is "the worse person ever" but other characters are called out on things so no reason Sharon shouldn't be.

There's a distinction between defending a rapist and defending someone you think has been falsely accused of rape.

Getting her own back on Phil is one thing but Ben has done nothing to her.

He is her stepson and she has referred to him as "her boy" before, so I'm not sure why she felt the need to be so cruel.

Kathy being alive doesn't change anything as neither Sharon or Ben know this.

Exactly and as for the "omg she is the worse person ever" mocking, that is ridiculous so good job no one here has said that, however it's exactly what is implied about other characters namely Shirley whenever she puts a foot wrong. So ironic...

How is it "grasping at straws"?

It's not like Ell_Ren is picking up on something minor... playing with Ben's emotions re: his 'dead' mum was pretty sick. Of course it is a valid reason and is going to be discussed.

I have seen Shirley slated for far less, in fact I have seen Shirley slated over things that might happen as opposed to things that she has actually done. Then when things don't play out as her haters spent weeks telling us they were going to the argument is switched to something else.

Hey slate all you want that your prerogative but let not say it isn't, you and Lholmes mentioned Shirley and if it had been her it would ten pages or something, actually the thread was about if Linda made the right decision.

How far can it be discussed exactly, was Sharon out of order sure, but how has it affected Ben? he more concerned about having to have sex with Abi to care and we know why a Kathy mention was put in, well from my recollection most of stuff discussed is what Shirley has done and if I recall most is dismissed from Shirley fans as minor.

Phil shouldn't have done what he did. Why shouldn't sharon have acted the way she did?
