I don't get why the social worker didn't let Cindy talk to her alone, she was *clearly* distressed and being pressured every time she tried to say what was going on. I also don't understand where people are getting 'brat' from because yeah, she can be demanding but she was (obviously, I thought) scared and upset about having Beth being raised by Ian and Jane. And honestly, when Ian and Jane stood up in unison after Cindy said she knew, part of me thought they were gonna do her in! Ian and Jane are so twisted and creepy now. If I were Cindy, even though I didn't want my daughter, I'd take her and asked to be housed somewhere else and then when away from them, try and get her adopted out. They're terrifying!
On the acting front, I thought Mimi was OTT but I also thought it worked. The hysterical crying and screaming is pretty realistic. It did very much feel like ~actress trying to cry~ rather than Cindy crying but I don't think she was as awful as some are saying.
