Haven't read the rest of this thread but when I saw your headline I immediately thought of cavemen.
However physically attractive I might find Marc (for the record, I don't), his "banter" just goes too far. I like a bit of smut but don't want to be an object or possession. I thought Sam had the balance right but it appears not.

I have this conversation with women I know every now and again as I find it odd that they seem to be drawn to assholes - even when I tell them that a potential is an asshole they still dive in with both feet - but hey, I guess its the human condition.
It is in our base natures to be drawn to certain physical and mental traits to "further the species" - we are just clever animals after all.
BTW there is a book out there which advises this approach to pick up women as it obviously works - never read it myself but on the evidence of Marc perhaps I should give it a go.

We ALL like arseholes. Some of our funniest mates are arseholes. As long as they have a certain level of charm we love having them around because they're fun. That's the truth. The only difference is that there's a sexual element to that attraction for women, but at the end of the day we all like to have fun and people like Marc provide that in some form or another.
What EVERYBODY hates however are charrmless, mean, spiteful arseholes. That is annoying. But fun arseholes who don't take themselves seriously are cherished by everyone even if they make totally unsuitable life partners.
