What they are doing to Cindy is disgusting. I didnt think they could get worse after the Lucy debacle.

Both Ian and Jane each separately want a new baby of their own. Jane wants a baby badly and Ian wants a baby girl to help heal his loss of Lucy. They are getting on a bit and might not have more kids of their own so Cindy's baby is the "perfect solution" for them. They don't care about Cindy who clearly has post natal depression. Not only that but Bobby is not right and I would worry about Beth being near him or upstairs alone with him. I think the separation between Cindy and Beth didn't help Cindy. I think they will try and get rid of Cindy so that they can keep Beth.

I actually thought that them taking in Cindy was a nice thing but its clearly so toxic at the moment. I suppose this just paves the way for Cindy to move in with Carol.

I was really struck at how unempathetic both seemed.

If they want to redeem themselves, then they will stitch up Cindy for the murder of Lucy. All they want to do is care for Beth, since Cindy doesn't.

I can see it from both sides really. I do really feel for Cindy though

I don't think any of them are in the right

I have zero sympathy for young girls like Cindy who shag about underage, pop out a child and then decide they do not want it. She wasn't raped. She was not forced into this pregnancy. No one made her not have an abortion. She did it all in her own free will. Everything was all down to her.

If Ian realises how toxic Jane is and comes clean to the police and SW then he's redeemable. She is not. What she did to Lucy and the rest of the family was cold, calculating and cruel....and not a flicker of remorse.

Ian and Jane were in a grey area with Bobby, they could have lost two children from him killing Lucy; they made a completely human decision. Peter was disgusted but could see what they were doing came from a good place. I do sympathise with Cindy feeling that they are completely disregarding her feelings, despite making some compromises for her, but if she cared at all about her child she would want them to have a stable family unit. I don't blame her if she's worried about Bobby though lol

To be fair to them, they've now grown attached to Beth, and as she is biologically related to Peter and Lucy, it's understandable that they see her as a family member and find the idea of just giving her away very difficult.

I agree with parts, I have been kind of annoyed recently at just how badly Ian has been written at times. His complete lack of even basic human concern for Cindy is kind of off putting, I'm not liking where this is going in a lot of ways.

The Church Of Scientology have tried prosecuting people for saying they're a cult! In central London young people / students protest against them with V For Vendetta masks on to avoid being targeted by Scientologists for protesting against them. Personally I find the Scientologists very worrying and they drive me mad with their leaflet shoving at people two to three at a time and street blocking outside their shop. I think they prefer rich people like John Travolta to join so they're wasting their time hassling me. They certainly seem to have a lot of money. Do they believe we're descended from aliens or something like that? Maybe one of the soaps could have someone join a cult? (I'm not saying TCOS are a cult of course) Maybe someone a bit lonely like Mary from Coronation Street could turn to a cult and give them all her money and then starts acting strangely and abandons Dev and the kids. Perhaps Julie could be the one who realises there is something wrong and helps her.

Yes imagine a young girl who's had little guidance or support wanting her baby so she'd actually have some family and something of her own, then being overwhelmed by the reality of dealing with it.... How awful of her...
No one would emerge unscathed from those two vultures circling.

I HATE what Ian and Jane are doing I feel so sorry for Cindy and her baby ,I think Baby Beth would be better off placed for adoption and as for poor Cindy she really needs help which is so lacking at the mo ,Ian and Jane dont deserve to have Beth .

OK Cindy has post natal depression. She doesn't want the baby at the moment. If the baby is adopted by strangers she might well regret the decision.

Ian and Jane are trying to do her a favour. They will look after the baby and she doesn't need to lift a finger. In years to come, she would have easy access to the baby if she wished.

Cindy is being an unreasonable brat.

Not completely irredeemable but fairly so.

More so Jane, I would say. Perhaps it was the way it was written, but Jane seemed awfully cold in the Live episode about what she had done. As much as I love her as an actress, I don't think Laurie Brett was at her best actually (I've seen her better in other episodes) but it just seemed the callous way of her dumping Lucy's body wasn't explored enough. If you watch it again, the explanation is there but it was one episode. I'd say it'd take a lot longer to forgive that.

I hope Ian turns on Jane at some point. Their redeeming features are that they are doing it for the sake of their child. But the way in which they are handling Bobby seems mad.

Curse of the Live episode. Great build up. Awesome week. Fairly poor aftermath. Same with Archie storyline. This HAS been better, but it felt brushed over like it was nothing.

I know this story will be revisited so I'll refrain from writing more. I fully expect these two to redeem themselves. Only way for me - Bobby to be punished.

Jane lost it for me when she dragged a dead corpse and dumped it and not any old corpse, scum.

Ian is great always liked him

Cindy is crying out for love and attention. The social worker asked her about her exams, but didn't bother listening to her reply, just turned her attention to the baby, Cindy was crushed. She's still a very young girl, with no parents, she just needs a bit of love and a cuddle.

Exactly.
Maybe she thought having a baby would make the Beales care more about her, not just the baby. Maybe part of her decision in keeping the baby was borne out of seeing the fuss that gets made over pregnant women and new babies. As a lonely and largely ignored girl that could easily have appealed to her.

I think Max could be an alien imposter. Bet he's given several Albert Square residents an anal probe!

Tina did her a great disservice helping persuade her not to have an abortion.
