EE: Disappointed at Ian's attitude towards Cindy

Anyone else feel the same? I'm disappointed Ian hasn't been sympathetic and trying to find out what's wrong with Cindy. Ian and Cindy shared a really heartfelt, poignant scene when he helped her give birth to Beth last year. He told Cindy he was going to look after her and seemed to accept her as a member of the family. It was a really emotional and lovely scene - hope it hasn't been forgotten

He was always cold with her . For a short while when Beth was born he was nice and kind , but otherwise I have often wanted to shout " Who is the adult here ? "

Definitely. But then again we have to remember that he lost his own daughter a year ago so looking for a surrogate is understandable, especially when she's living under the same roof as him. He's desperate to keep Lucy 2.0 at home.

I think we should remember Ian has no obligation to look after Cindy - she's not his daughter or even his stepdaughter - yet he still took her in and provided her with a roof over her head and fed and clothed her. Peter and Lucy didn't even want anything to do with her when she arrived so it's not even like he was coerced by his kids into taking in their half-sister. Cindy has also behaved like a complete brat the entire time she's lived under Ian's roof and never shown him any respect. Her own aunt and grandmother (who are legally responsible for her) don't even want to know so the heavy burden of caring for this problem child was left to Ian and it's not even the first time Ian has brought up someone else child (Steven) so I think he deserves more credit than he's getting.

Yep, but it's typical of Ian to be like this. It's just what he's like.
