The whisky thread
What whiskies are you drinking, and what would you recommend other people try?
I'm drinking Highland Park 12 yo. Would recommend Old Pulteney 12 yo. |

If we can veere off into bourbon then Jim Beam and Jim Beam Red Stag as they're on offer at the moment.
I also had a bottle of Buffalo Trace the other week for a special occasion and forgot how much better than the standard stuff it is. |

I like peaty ones. My favourite is Lagavulin.
At the moment I have 3 bottles on the go: Penderyn Hakushu Suntory Bowmore Islay 12 years. |

Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace lately. Was thinking of branching out into Rye and Corn Whiskey but not sure i'm brave enough.

Laphroaig is favourite for drinking neat. Jack Daniels is OK mixed with dry ginger.

Have just returned from a visit to Scotland. One or two or several distilleries may have been visited
![]() I bought my Dad a bottle of Arbelour Abundah from the cellar door as a treat for when he has completed chemo. I am reliably informed by a fellow whisky lover it's amazing. I enjoyed the Highland park 15 year we were allowed to try on the tasting tour but 65 pounds a bottle was beyond me!! I bought a bottle of Talisker port ruighe which is just lovely. I also enjoyed Balvenie and glenfiddich. |

Flew out of Sicily yesterday and bagged a litre of Grouse in the airport for 12 euros.
I also picked up a litre of Ballantynes in an Italian supermarket for around the same. |

Highland Park and Jura are my two favourites.
I did pick up a bottle of Springbank 33 year old Whisky in an airport Duty Free several years ago as they had it on offer, it was something silly like £25 a bottle, far too good to miss but that didn't last too long!! ![]() I've never really got on with Talisker though. |

Glenmorangie Original, Jura Superstition & Talisker storm are the 3 sitting on my shelf at the moment, plus I'll be adding a bottle of Devils Cut next week.
Nowt better than spending an evening in the company of a four fingered whisky
