I can't really explain just how much I despised Val tonight, and Bob for supporting her. I was just not funny.

Its weird listening to Val constantly put down Brenda knocking her appearance and talking about how much better looking she is than her when in real life the bloke who plays her onscreen husband Eric is married to the woman playing Brenda.

Personally I think Brenda is more attractive looking than Val.

Are you kidding? I haven't laughed as much for ages. I found it hilarious. Especially Vals dopey Brenda voice!

It was completely ridiculous but I did find it funny. Val playing Brenda is far more interesting than Brenda playing Brenda. I wish they'd kept up the Brenda vs Carly stuff, it was nice seeing a more assertive Brenda than the simpering one we get 99.9% of the time.

I love Val and I love Brenda. Val's impression of Brenda had me in stitches.

That make me very sad. Brenda may come across as a bit ordinary, but she is kindness its self. It will serve Bob right if he loses her over this. Val has never got over knowing that Eric and Brenda were an item when she left him. Nasty is never funny as far as I am concerned.

I thought she was funny - the scene was a bit of lightheartedness among all the Ashley/Victoria drama. That's one of the things I love about Emmerdale - they always get a balance so it's never all high drama and never all lightheartedness.

I take it you didn't see her thieving escapes? Her constant guilt tripping of Debbie? Her uncalled for snarling at Carly for daring to take up some of Bob's attention?

She is a nasty piece of work and deserves all she gets.

Val can be funny but she goes way too far. I thought she was quite contemptuous in her attitude to Brenda. Val really has an over inflated sense of herself - if she was chocolate she'd eat herself. She's like a fourteen year old looking down her nose at people because they've got the wrong hairdo, except the bitchy 14 year old is insecure, whereas Val believes her own publicity.

I loved her impersonation of Wendy it was hilarious, especially when she started going about how she was going to ask her friend Val for fashion advice. I have to say though she looked more like Hayley from Corrie than Wendy.

I am not fond of Brenda but she is not that dopey, Val was OTT and nasty.

She was acting like someone with severe mental health issues and in that instance it's doubtful the bank would allow her to sign anything.

I thought Val was funny. I don't like Brenda and her jealousy towards Carly. I can't wait to see Brenda / Wendy's face when she finds out what the others have all done!

I agree. She's been utterly vile to Carly. Granted the latter's done plenty wrong too, but Brenda was totally over the top and spoke incredibly out of turn on several occasions. It's not her place to decide upon Bob and Carly's relationship, but she's clearly decided it is. Carly is deeply hurt at being abandoned and ignored by her useless, selfish, deadbeat dad who has gone on to treat his other children a lot better. Very unreasonable of her I'm sure...

Well yes Carly has a right to be upset, but she has no right to take it out on Brenda. Bob is the one who left her. She doesn't know Brenda who is Bob's wife after all. And how on earth can her hurt be worse than that of Brenda who had a brain tumour, lost her daughter in a horrible way, and as a consequence as good as lost her granddaughter. She was quite prepared to be a good step daughter to Carly, but no, madam had to insist on being nasty. Like Val, Carley is a bully.

Would you like Debbie after her part in Gennie's death. And it is Carly who is not prepared to share. Sometimes I wonder if I am watching the same program as everyone else.

I think with Brenda and Carly there's fault on both sides, and Brenda's comes from being over protective of Bob. Bob's the one who needs to be stronger and not led astray by Carly, and Brenda should back off and respect that Carly and Bob want a relationship. However, Carly has been really rude to Brenda at times and has given the impression of being a shyster. This latest trick is an absolute betrayal which will really hurt Brenda.

I don't much like Brenda but she doesn't deserve that, nor to have Val taking the piss, just because she wants a cheap holiday. I was disgusted by that. Val can be really awful.

As for Brenda stealing, wasn't she grieving at the time, and also developing a brain tumour? Her head was all over the place. I don't think any court in the land would have judged her harshly.

I could close my eyes and believe it was actually Brenda in the bank with Bob. Val is hilarious, and one of the funniest ever soap characters.

Emmerdale always gets the balance of drama/comedy right with the Ashley/Laurel/Victoria stuff, and the Val/Carly/Bob/Brenda stories going on. You can both laugh and cry in one episode.

I thought it was funny. Val is OTT at times but I find her hilarious. If everyone in the village was like Brenda, nice as she is, emmerdale would be extremely boring.

I have to say, though, I have been annoyed at Brenda lately. She is having too much say in bobs relationship with Carly. Carly was abandoned by job and he is trying to make it up to her. Brenda should stay out of that.

Val is nasty and spiteful, and her 'acting' leaves a lot to be desired. Last evening, she was embarrassing to watch. Bob has always seemed like a nice man; so why was he letting Vile Val make fun of his wife? I hope this storyline is short-lived.
