Tina Carter has to take some of the blame over Cindy!

I really think given the outcome that Tinas little pet talk dissuaded Cindy from going through with an abortion has really proved to be unhelpful and counterproductive.

I'd have thought she'd be more involved in this storyline?

Agreed. Lucy might not have died either had Cindy not gotten pregnant. I blame Tina. Tina killed Lucy Beale.

I'm not sure how it her fault tbh hilda, she never forced her, Cindy been pretty fine playing mum until March and Beth had one week away and all of sudden she thinks she better off with Ian and Jane the whole storyline is just a big mess.

Oh it's not a blame game it just seems to me her guidance or intervention was ultimately unhelpful. I guess if I'd have been in Tinas shoes I would have advised (not forced) someone in a slightly different direction using a different approach.
I wasn't a fan of the young pregnancy storyline so soon after Lola and Lexi -that's were the mess started imo in the conception of this storyline.
I guess if I'm gonna be blunt and not sugar coat it I think it would have been best if Cindy would have had a termination.
There's a lot of potential life long emotional damage to a child being removed from its main caregiver or parent at almost age 1 and I think a bad outcome was always likely and predictable but made all the more so by the family murder. I don't like how Tinas bond with Cindy has been dropped. Of course Tina never forced her but my point was her influence was negative.

But yes it's basically a mess of a storyline.

So it's better to just kill it?

Not now she's born obviously?

I'm pro choice and a woman's right to choose and will make no apology for that.

Nothing unusual on DS SOAP FORUMS! 😁
I think sometimes it's good that soaps provoke discussion on real life moral issues .At its best EastEnders always did 👍

Is there an inconsistency between respecting the right to choose, and criticising the actual choice made? For example if Cindy's choice had been to have a termination, and that choice was being criticised?

Well asking in a way that's overemotive like so it's better just to kill it is hardly gonna give me confidence that they actually respect the right to choose.
Of course it's possible to believe in the right to choose but to hope that people won't make the choice to abort .

Respecting the choice and the right to that choice doesn't mean never having any kind of dialogue about it. There's also the distinction between criticising the general option or the specific instance. Besides, talking about a character is very different to a real person. With a real person it's no one's business but the prospective parents and people shouldn't stick their noses in, with a character it's entirely acceptable and presumably welcome for anyone to have an opinion.

Out of interest, what was Shabnam's advice to Cindy when they had that conversation about Beth a couple of months ago? That was one of the times when the much softer and likeable side of NuShabnam came out.

Actually it's Cindy Sr's fault. If she didn't give birth to Cindy Jr then she would have never gotten pregnant as a teenager and none of this would be happening.....

Perfectly put.
