Of course it's true. It's not an 'angry boys' argument. Sex sells whatever the gender. When looking for leading men they tend to hire attractive male film stars, just as they tend to do with women.

All of them have been touted as sexy male film stars. It's generally the case (Depending on the film) that they don't hire ugly leading men.
It's the same with television. Colin Firth as Mr Darcy, Aiden Turner as Poldark, even rough and ready types such as Philip Glenister as Gene Hunt in Life on Mars.
You even see threads on DS with women and gay men adoring attractive male celebrities.
What is it that makes you think that it is unique for female celebrities in the business to be sexualized?
