In my job, I trained up the managers and supervisors to interview and employ their own staff (after I'd vetted the application forms). As they were mostly women, I thought it wiser to let them choose people with whom they thought they could work and being their choices they did their best to see that it did. They wanted to avoid giving me the chance to say, "Well, you took 'em on, you sort 'em out." Had few problems that way.

So I was surprised when the two checkout supervisors came to me and asked if I wanted to see this particular girl they said seemed a good prospective employee.

I said; "Why do you want me to have a word with her, can't you make up your minds?

Oh! She'll be fine, but we thought you might like to take a look."

"Why?"

"Because she's got big tits!"
