Couldn't get over how different we looked today. Spurs are a very fit side and we were matching their intensity from the off. I wasn't sure we'd be able to keep it going for the whole game but to be fair, we did. Perhaps it was just the desire to impress the new manager but I hope not. Some of the one-touch passing from players like Milner, Lallana and Can was stuff I just haven't seen before from them.

We had a couple of dodgy moments at the back but to even go to WHL (where I believe they recently gave City a spanking) and be brave enough the pass the ball like that was impressive to me. I noticed that we didn't dawdle on the ball too much which was our undoing quite often under Rodgers. Instead, we were passing forward everytime we won it back even if it meant a lot of turnovers, because we had the confidence to go and win it back again.

Overall, I can't complain about a point at Spurs in Klopp's first game and with so many injuries. He made it clear that his first priority was to sort out our defensive game and that's music to my ears. Origi lead the line well but he hasn't got that cutting edge in front of goal yet. Exciting times ahead.

I am not enthusiastic at all
and the fact that you guys are happy with a 0-0 or accept the fact that Liverpool cant score without having strikers as being ``acceptable`` quite frankly shows the low standards!

I am not trying to be funny but Klopp`s obsession with Origi frightens me.

Origi scored 13 goals in 2 seasons for Lille, hardly world class.
He also went 18 consecutive games last season not scoring for them
And also missed the pen which got them kicked out of europe last season (for Lille),

The fact that Liverpool struggle so much for goals is very VERY WORRYING

i said this fact the other day but i will say it again as it is essential you read this to see that there is a massive problem

in their last 24 games in all competitions, in just 3 of them have they scored more than 1 goal.
Which means in 21 of their last 24 games, Liverpool either scored a maximum of once, or not at all!

He has managed the team in ONE game!!!!

He could have played the tea lady up front and it still wouldnt class an obsession after one game.

Im not even a Liverpool fan and even i find you incredibly annoying in this thread.

Not as much as your obsession with him unnerves me.
Did he knock you back once babe?

I don't think you watched yesterday's match at all, I think you've just cherry picked bits and pieces of match reports to pull apart. I'm not even going to bother addressing your comments as they're too ill conceived.
One word of advice though, if you're going to quote please do note your source.

I see. And the truth is that we should get hysterical because we failed to register a goal in just 1 game under Jurgen Klopp away to a tough Spurs team, despite the fact that our 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice strikers were all out injured?

Forgive me if I decide that I wish to give the man a little patience.

It is the fact that with a team that features the likes of 25 million Lallana (for example)
that not producing goals is ``to be excpected``!

Indeed, and it wasn't acceptable that we weren't scoring goals.. That's why we got our way and had a new managed instilled.

If you thought these problems were going to be immediately resolved in the space of 1 game under the new manager, you're seriously deluded.

The hatred for the Manager was the link between Raven and IoF and this one it seems.

bottom line is,
even without the strikers, LFC team still cost hundreds of millions

yet not scoring is supposed to be hailed as a good result?

excuse me for not jumping with joy

Honestly what more can you expect from a manager with only a few days of training and a diminished squad through injury, We have spent far too much money for the poor options we have, Our new manager is not Jesus Christ and cannot make water into wine, But give him a chance (longer than a week) more a transfer window or two before you start making ridiculous judgements.

You saw a totally different performance from what most other watched then, so your analysis skills clearly need honing.

Where you see not scoring (although we came very close) I see not conceding in a match following an international break where our Manger was replaced and we had to play away from home against a strong team (when our own is depleted by injuries to key players)

The Manager who lead the team yesterday is not responsible for the hundreds of millions spent. I already saw a change in determination, effort and enthusiasm from both the team and supporters and hope this is something which can be built on.

You also say

You have your tense wrong. It's 'as were' not as are, we're moving on now.
I also dispute that yesterday was a snooze fest.

Since when was a 0-0 result
and now going just 3 out of their last 24 games where they have scored 1 or more goals

how is that acceptable

i watch football to be entertained

i do NOT find 0-0 draws or 1-1s to be entertaining!

Away to Tottenham who turned over Man City 4-1 recently, Whilst we had limited striking options.

I do not know if you noticed but the campaign to get rid of Rodgers is over, Thought I would just make you AWARE, 1 game is not enough to call time on a new manager.

Well go watch American Football then - they even have cheerleaders to add to the 'entertainment'.

(Why in hell am I even replying to this dross?)

23 of those 24 games were under BR by the way. Irrelevant to what our future may contain.

So you're a glory hunter then?
Well contested draws can be very entertaining indeed.

Football is an adversarial sport, two teams pitted against each other. It starts with striving and working to have better tactics, understanding of your opposition, skills and sometimes a little bit of luck.

We all like to see our team score, we all like to win. Fans want to be top of the table and win trophies, of course we do, but real fans of the game also have a pleasure and understanding of all the above and can even appreciate good play from the other side.

Have you thought of watching something like ice hockey instead?

You're right.

By the way T20 next summer, they have cheerleaders and music too just to keep the crowd's attention if they aren't up to following the play

I don't know if someone's attempting to be a wum, but I'm out now.

Suffice to say I found this last week to be invigorating and am now looking forward to seeing how the team and the squad develop.
