We've been so dangerous so far, yet they get the first goal.
We should be able to come back and win this. A little test for Klopp on his first home game. |

Dominated from the start, they finally get a touch of the ball, get it in our box, and its 1-0.
Don't think anyone in the crowd expected it either, as hardly a cheer when it went in. ![]() Plenty of time left though

It's like playing FIFA with the Shoot button busted. Our shots have been appalling so far. That'll cue a 25 yard screamer if nothing else...

Can someone other than Coutinho take set pieces? For all his qualities I don't think set pieces are one of them. His free kicks and corners aren't all that, but then I don't know who else could do better. Can and Milner, perhaps. Lallana, maybe, and maybe Origi?

Skrtel rash, Can sloppy, Coutinho hesitant, Lallana no end product, all a bit pedestrian and then...
The Russian Hunts for a Red in October! I know, that was sub-standard...

Origi has been given his chance by Klopp but he's certainly not taking it so far.
Disappointing but at least we're not losing, I would expect us to go and win now, especially with Rubin down to 10 men. On a side note, did anyone notice the Rubin Kazan badge? Looks a bit like the liverbird! |

Too much two touch football. Need more tempo and bravery. Passing too safe.

Only one thing worth saying tonight.
Sakho was immense. I don't use that word too often either. How BR thought he should start on the bench is beyond me. |

First home match for Klopp trying to make a silk purse of Rodgers squad. He told us we needed to be patient, and so we will, I would have been dumbfounded if we had come out with the massive win many were predicting, but we played better - just need to sort out the dammed finishing!
Disgusted with those that got up and walked before the whistle, really revolted in fact.

![]() Ultimately a disappointing performance, the likes we've seen from Rodgers Liverpool all season. I have no doubts though that we'll improve though as Klopp gets to grips with what he has at his disposal. Sakho was easily MOTM, the guy is absolutely immense. Lallana was also very good and Firmino showed glimpses of quality in the short period he was on. On the flipside, Origi and Milner were very poor, and Can faded in and out of the game. Coutinho hasn't been his usual magical self recently, but I expect him to be back to himself sooner rather than later. |

Unlucky not to get a win, I think.
Lallana was my MOTM, followed by Can. Looked the most likely to make something happen. Just wasn't happening. Moreno played well, especially in the second half. Origi wasn't so bad when he was on, looked dangerous in parts. Aside from the freekick that led to the goal, Coutinho wasn't at his best. He kept trying but nothing was coming off, and his finishing still needs work. I think Milner looked a bit better than he has done recently. Benteke looked good when he came on. Was unlucky not to get a goal. Firmino was also impressive when he came on. Possibly the best he's looked so far. Hopefully both can start against Southampton or at least come on earlier than they did. Lucas also played alright when he came on, he tried to make things happen. Skrtel didn't have the best of days for me, even though the goal may have been more Clyne's error. We need to work on our set-pieces...and finishing! Looks like we were taking the Europa League seriously. Played a strong team. Oddly there's been no comment on our game despite there usually being comments on English teams being kind of disrespectful towards the Europa League. |

Don't think we were unlucky not to win or deserved it. We played against 10 men for the majority and didn't do enough.
Created little clear cut chances. Draw was fair result. |

I was there tonight which is relatively rare for me and being there means you cannot see incidents twice or hear what the pundits say = you have to make your own mind up!! I live about an hour and a half away so got in about an hour ago.
My opinion? if we did not know it already it showed that we are not going to be transformed overnight as a lot of that looked much the same as when BR was in charge with not hat much evidence of high pressing Klopp style. It will take time for there to be a major change in the way we play - and most probably some changes in personnel. I think it is good that he has 2 and a half months with the present squad before anyone can be bought or sold so all will have the chance to stake their claim. He will look at their play, their training and whether they appear on side and prepared to put the effort in to get to where we want to be, if they are not up to it in one or more of those areas then they will be ditched and he will get people in who are. I felt nobody was total rubbish tonight but we certainly lacked inspiration - heck we were playing against 10 men at home V a team who were bottom of the group and still could not get a win. For me the best were Sakho and Lallana and Can did OK too and I do prefer Lucas to Allen in that role. Origi is an easy target for critics but he is only 20 and had to lead the line by himself for a lot of the time altho yes I know he was not great - to me he does not look selfish enough to be the kind of striker we need. Milner runs a lot (more than anyone in the PL so says the stats!!) so is a Klopp type player but for me I have my doubts as to me he is a bit predictable. Coutinho is inconsistent and at present is not in his best spell of form. Anyway maybe it is a good thing that we have not started with a bang as it shows them hard work will be required - which you'd hope they knew already but if they didn't they do now!! |
