This whole signing a 29 year old issue? - I would not be pro signing Vardy but not so much cos of his age but cos of the fact that he is a bit of a one season wonder. On the other hand if a 29 year old was available who would better our team and he had been good all his career then under normal circumstances we should go for him. - unless he was injury prone for instance

I am not sure FSG would support such a policy and that is a worry but you never know - maybe JK may be able to persuade them!!

Not sure on Vardy, but Mahrez could be worth a look if he keeps up his current form.

True, but we've got a plethora of players of his type already so maybe if we sold one or two of them (willingly or otherwise).

That win did our goal difference a lot of good...it's at zero
Let's get it into a high positive number now

Mahrez is a wide attacking player - we have only Ibe of that type (and Markovic on loan) so for me Mahrez would be definitely worth a look.

I would make the observation tho that it is an indictment of our scouts that Leicester got him - why couldn't we have spotted him and got him on the cheap as they did? - cos for sure if we did go for him now they would up the price so we would end up overpaying.

at the people talking about him being 29 is an issue

so what?
how is 29 remotely old
alan shearer was like 30 when he was signed for a record fee

and gary mcallister was like 35 when he had that amazing season for us, where he did more in a few months than any of the cans or skirtels or morenos have done in seasons!!

not being rude but id rather an experienced goal scorer, than a ``young whizzkid`` like jordan freaking ibe or origi who is all huff puff and NO END PRODUCT!!!

If by "like 30" you mean "26", then you're spot on.

Shearer was 25 when he signed for Newcastle.

Having you got some knitting that needs doing? Repeating the same **** on here is not constructive use of your time nor ours. Yes, we all know you think Origi is shocking. Next subject?

I'm mildly amused, I've been away from the thread for a few weeks (just been hectic) so I've not had any experience of this poster. She sounds worse than IoF.

IOF was at least smart, was able to engage in discussion, regardless of how annoying she was.

I wish Kolo Toure was played more often
i really like him much more than Lovren or Skirtel

Yeah it's so sad, I mean, if he'd played we'd have beaten Chelsea 3-1....oh wait...

Toure is definitely a solid option, and sure, I'd personally trust him over Lovren, but let's give Klopp a chance to decide who makes up his best 11...

Sadly, he's in his mid 30s and is prone to injury. He couldn't play regularity. Great attitude though. Another centre back is definitely needed.

Not many 72 year olds play PES and GTA - I guess bingo wasn't doing it for her...

As I just said, my fabulous 72 year old auntie goes to the gym 3 times a week and picks up a dance class.

She doesn't share your horrific view on Hillsborough though..

Fantastic performance from the Redmen, even though I was a Rodgers fan, had we gone down 1-0 under him, the most we would have got is a draw. The midfield and front men in particular were good, bar Milner.

Moreno and Lallana have improved since Klopp has come in, especially Lallana who seems to be involved in a lot of our strikes on goal, he just needs to up his end product. Moreno was at fault for the goal, but otherwise has been very good. Lucas as always is proving everyone wrong, another fantastic performance.

I don't know what is wrong with Chelsea at the moment, but bar the 1st 10 minutes, they didn't look threatening at all.

Very impressed with our pressing, I've always wanted our team to play at a relentless pace and hopefully Klopp will get us playing with even more intensity, if his Borussia team is anything to go by.

Seems Diego Costa won't be facing a ban for the incident with Martin Skrtel. But to be honest a retrospective ban won't really benefit us that much since the game's finished. One benefit though would have been him not being able to score and make our attempt at top four easier, but with his disciplinary record and injury record it'll work itself out eventually.
