This is easily the best post Suarez display and fills me with hope for the future.

The goal just before half time worried me but quite honestly I feel we have been relatively comfortable in the second half and have had some easy chances to score more -Neville and Tyler more or less saying if Aguero had stayed on we may not have won -

Thing is even at 1-3 MUFC had to score 3 to get the points still. I couldn't see that happening. With Aguero or not.

Sterling wants to score so bad.

Fantastic performance! My weekend has been made. I can't quite believe we've managed to score 4 against City after our struggles in front of goal this season, and it could have been more but for Hart's performance.

We've a run of "winnable" games between now and January so it's a real chance to get ourselves out of mid-table and on a nice run. This result will mean little if we lose again at home next weekend like we did against Palace after the Chelsea result.

We have now played all the top teams (well, bar Leicester) away from home. It was always going to be a tough start, but we have come through it in decent shape.

We've beaten Chelsea away and Man City away, as well as beating a tough Stoke team away. We've also avoided defeats away from home against Everton, Arsenal, Spurs.

That's blown our expectations of those games out of the water if you ask me.

Excellent performance! Someone just asked me who I thought MOTM was, I stopped and thought I can't pick one, there is no stand out, the whole team was brilliant!

Happy days!

I wasn't expecting anything from today's game, 4-1 is an amazing result.

We've now won at City and Chelsea and got draws at Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton, only losing at United out of last seasons other top 7 teams. Our away form has been quite good considering this has been regarded as a poor season so far

Love that image of Klopp 'winding up' all our players then setting them on the pitch to run like hell from the whistle!

A few things I want to get off my chest...

The style is not a million miles away from what we were doing two years ago when demolishing the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, United and Everton. What really did for BR was that he couldn't lift the team again after they came up cruelly short of what would have been an astonishing and much coveted title win. Key players, particularly Gerrard, were broken by the experience frankly.

Losing Suarez to Barcelona and Sturridge to injury were further blows that we couldn't recover from.

Klopp has made many of these players believe again and play with a smile on their faces again. It needed someone who wasn't burnt by the 2013/2014 experience to come in and get the team playing again. It really helps his style has a lot of similarities with what we were doing under BR at our best. A key difference may be that Klopp treats all players the same and doesn't alienate as easily as BR did. Like some of those 2013/2014 games, we may run out of legs if we don't get into a very strong position in the first hour of games but hopefully Klopp can resolve that with more studied substitutions.

Thought Milner was great today - some fans didn't note he was struggling with an injury during the Chelsea game (and was treated) and succumbed to it during the next game - that's the reason he had struggled of late and not because he can't adjust to Klopp's system.

Apart from the standard unnecessary free kicks given away by Lucas and Skrtel (who made up for his key mistake with a great goal at least) almost all the other players excelled. Clyne was a bit wasteful and sloppy going forward but defensively everyone was right at it. Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino were mesmeric at times with their exchanges and we always played on the front foot even in dangerous areas.

Let's sort our home form out (fit strikers will help) and have a very strong season from hereon in. Ibe looks a different player, even in his short cameo - it's all about being braver on the ball and more assertive and we've got to thank Klopp for that.

I hope Coutinho isn't out for long - he's back at his best too.

It was a great watch but as I say we need to find a way of getting consistent results at home when teams sit back and counter us.

Here's dreaming of a red Christmas!

Oh dear. Here was me thinking nothing could spoil my day after our victory...short lived that was.

For those without blinkers on the below is a far better version on this is anfield:

Lucas is arguably enjoying the finest spell of his Liverpool career, and he was again the glue that held the Reds together at the Etihad.

So much of what the 28-year-old does goes under the radar, but his use of the ball and expertise defensively were pivotal to the outcome of the game.

No player has attempted more tackles in the Premier League this season than Lucas (55) and only Crystal Palace's Yohan Cabaye has won more - 40 to Lucas' 39.

Great away victories already under Klopp, beating Chelsea 1-3 and Man City 1-4 has been truly excellent and a massive upgrade from pre Klopp performances for sure.

I had to go and pick up the missus from the train station at half time.Worried the tide would turn as I switched from tv to car radio but thankfully not.

Wasn't that little bloke we got a few quid for in the summer meant to have played for City today?

Guess he slipped into Clyne or Skertel's pocket early on and I missed him

I feel like Ibe roasted in his full back more times in his 20 minute cameo, than Sterling did all game.

So we wait weeks (months, even) enduring some meagre performances and excusing them because we don't have our strikers fit. Then we actually have our top two front men available and don't play them, but still play the league leaders off the pitch! We are a strangle team!

I know city were all over the place, but they still had top, very expensive players all over the park. Firmino could have had a hat-trick, Benteke should have scored and their goal was entirely down to our own messing about- 0-7 would have been about right. Unbelievable performance; unbelievable we couldn't beat Palace.

I just hope we can get a bit of luck with the injuries for a while and this starts us off on a little run.

Only one blot on the horizon for us now, and that is Coutinho - how bad is he hurt? He has finally reached back to being in control and in form, for him to be injured again would be so dammed cruel. His linking with Firmino was stunningly good - and with Lallana our front 3 were sublime, I honestly can find no criticism of any single Liverpool player today, not one.

Great great result today , very very happy (Shame Man Utd got a bit of luck with an unfortunate og from Deeney on 90 mins in their game though)!

The whole team did well tonight, for me Clyne was the most wasteful if I had to pick one issue out but that's a non story with the final score.

Yes Lucas made 2 vital interceptions that actually started our moves that led to goals 2 & 3, a won header over Fernando in the middle of the park led to the break for the 2nd and a good foot in on the edge of our own box led to the breakaway for the 3rd goal, lots in between maybe but his challenges started things moving, vital component, shame he misses the Swans game now though.

The brazilains were great today with Coutinho edging out Firmino for MOTM, hope nothing serious with his hamstring that he went off with.

Now if we can sort out our home form then there really will be reason to be optimistic, love Jurgen's enthusiasm

Indeed. The fact I saw him on the bench is the optimistic view I'm leaning towards, don't want him to miss any games with his recent form.

I agree not a day to criticise anyone, pleasing game to watch.

Nice to see Pellegrini's interview afterwards, honest appraisal unlike a certain Jose Mourinho's after we turned them over at their place.

Again, like the last time I dared to criticise Lucas, I have not said he's a bad player and agree he's playing very well. It's just a personal observation of mine that he does tend to give needless freekicks away. That's ptobably partly due to the volune of challenges he makes, true, but I think it's a trait - and it almost cost us in the Chelsea game. I'm almost always positive on here, so am entitled to make a negative obsrtvation from time to time surely - of course you can disagree but to make such a drana out of doing so is odd. Lighten up

Ok. If you'll permit me to go through your initial post more thoroughly, your posts to me anyway, do seem to often be very pro Brendan and well lets say not overly complementary towards Lucas, my opinion.
You say BR couldn't recover from the loss of Suarez & Sturridge, then surely by default the fact that Klopp can take apart Chelsea & City away without those same players shows it was a good call to replace him after all?
On Milner - you thought he was great today yet he was the one who came very close to gifting City a goal with the dreadful backpass yet bemoan Lucas for needless fouls, of which I only remember his making 3 all game, the one that led to his yellow was covering Skrtel and stopping a city breakaway, some would say a selfless taking one for the team foul.
That's why I took issue with your post, I see no reason to single out one player with negativity, and that's what you have done, as you later exempt Skrtel for scoring.
Frankly it winds me up when people criticise without seeing all the good work that he does during the game, backed up most definitely with the stats.
I've had my say, once more, so will now lighten up as you say and hopefully have sweet dreams on Liverpools excellent team win.

Still buzzing from today's result, loved the crowds chant at Sterling asking him "what is the score".

While we still have a long way to go, especially when playing against teams that we should beat, I am just so thankful that Klopp is our manager, while it won't be a continuous smooth ride, I do look forward to see us playing more like today.
