Very disappointing this, like we didn't want to win.

This happens so many times with us... Teams around as (spurs) drop points and we fail to capitalise

Would have took a draw after 10 minutes I thought to myself.

Worst performance under Klopp by some distance and it still took an OG and a disallowed goal to beat us. Shows just how terrible Newcastle are.

Too many players in the squad that aren't of the quality we need to move forward. Klopp will need backing in the summer and some average players will need moving on.

Brought down to earth with a thump, It was always going to happen with such a big build up about how poor Newcastle are and how well Liverpool were doing, I said we would get beat to the father in law at lunch time as this has happened so many times in the past you can just sense it happening.

I used that term on Wednesday night and got corrected for it. They are average.

As shite as we were, the linesman should be absolutely disgraced by how wrong he was disallowing Moreno's goal. Absolutely shocking decision.

Benteke Allen Lucas and Milner are my issues, I'm not scared to name them.

In midfield today felt so empty.

Allen and Lallana are. They have a good game every now and again and their fans pipe up about them "shutting up the haters". Milner's also beginning to concern me although he should have had an assist today.

Ibe is a promising talent but can't be relied upon to deliver week in week out at his age.

Firmino deserves time, as does Origi.

The jury's out on Benteke for me but today he had one chance which he should have scored. Hopefully Sturridge can stay fit and start most games.

Lucas I can forgive, because he's been immense in most other games this season and it isn't his job to be assisting with the attack. Allen and Milner on the other hand offered absolutely nothing going forward (other than Milner's wonderful ball to Moreno for his 'goal') and it's probably where we lost the game. Firmino was forced to come too deep in the first half, and then when he was replaced we resorted to long balls into the box. No one in the centre was capable of creating anything, and I have no idea why Henderson didn't come on.

Benteke's movement isn't good. There were times today when he was way too static, and it just wasn't doing anything to cause the Newcastle defence any issues. Compare that to the 1st Newcastle goal where Perez made a very good run to drag Clyne away from Wijnaldum and you can see the difference a mobile striker can make. Hell, even Sturridge had an opportunity not long after he came on due to intelligent movement (although he really should have hit the target).

MOTM for me (if I HAD to pick one) was Moreno. Not only was he robbed of a delicious goal, but he was one of the few players that didn't misplace a million passes. He put in a few decent balls today, but no one was there to meet most of them.

First of all, fair play to Newcastle, they put the effort in and then got a lucky call; they got a chance at the end and took it.

Deeply disappointed that we had a cracking goal disallowed, but we didn't play well enough throughout the game to claim a win. Ibe was trying hard but still doesn't release or deliver early/well enough.

I'm really surprised about Henderson not coming on, I really hope he starts the next game as milner and Allen really do not work well together

Poor display but it was ultimately an own goal and a disallowed one from us that decided the result.
We really missed Can and Sakho today. Two players who offer the solidity we badly needed.Struggling to believe the 606 kneejerkers who want Benteke sold. £32m paid in the summer and offloaded in January, that is madness.

Lessons to be learnt after today are the selection and team psychology after a run of good results. We seemed a bit off the pace and to be taking Newcastle lightly.
We can go on another good run before Xmas and I fully expect Klopp to get us there.

Good post. Knee jerk reactions are never good as we can't expect miracles right away. We definitely missed can and sahko.

We also need to see another brightside: we're still ahead of Chelsea

a bad day at the office - I know modern football is "squad" based, but to leave strikers on the bench who scored 5 goals a matter of days ago, would never have happened years ago

I'm appalled by our performance tonight, I really am. Newcastle were certainly there for the taking, its not like they themselves had a great game, because they weren't much better than us.

Not aggrieved by the linesman's wrong decision at all (although it was a great finish), simply because we didn't deserve anything from the game.

I was going to question the team selection, I originally thought that Sturridge, Lallana and Origi should have all started but its not like they made any difference when they did come on anyway.

There's a lot more that could be said about certain individuals but I don't think its fair to single out certain players when it was just a bad overall team performance. Gutted.

In spite of how bad we were, we deserved a point and would have been in a strong position to get one (or maybe even 3) had the officials done their jobs properly.

Going forward we did nothing but the defence did their jobs fairly well. A bit of bad luck for the OG but I'm not sure how much we can blame Skrtel for it.

I'm aggrieved by the disallowed goal, purely because it would have been a goal of the season contender. For Moreno to hit that first time, on the volley, from that angle AND lobbing the keeper? Everything about that goal was just superb.
