It's the same old story, we play well for a couple of matches and the slip up against opposition we should be getting a result from.

I hate playing teams at the bottom, it's as if we can only get up for the big matches and this has been going on for far too long.
And we always seem to slip up after other teams we are chasing drop points.

I don't know if he's a dominant centre-half but I mentioned the other day a link to Subotic. He apparently wants to work with Klopp again and was with him at Mainz. I don't see us going on a £60 spending spree on Dortmund but if we are going to get some players from Dortmund then he could well be one of them.
in january though?

dortmund are currently flying and are genuine title contenders. why would they sell subotic mid season.

personally cant see it.

You always say that about transfers, though.

He's said to be not happy at the club right now, and according to the Echo has only played twice this season. They haven't ruled it out.

The world of Liverpool transfer rumours is a far better place when there's a little substance to a report.

Now, don't get too carried away, we're not privy to Jurgen Klopp's list of transfer targets, and we have no way of saying that he's after Dortmund defender Neven Subotic.

But one could imagine it's not outside the realms of possibility.

And Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has admitted that the Serbian defenders isn't all too happy at the club right now, having only played twice this season under Thomas Tuchel.

"We are still playing the first half of the season and we are not thinking about letting him go, but naturally we will discuss his situation," Zorc said.

"It's an unusual and difficult situation for him. Neven copes with it professionally, but naturally he is not happy."

He's 6'4" so should be dominant in the air at least - which we need.

Subotic isn't much of an upgrade on Skrtel.

Yes but being 5 points behind you dont expect Dortmund to just give up now.

Being linked with Hummels again now too. I'd prefer him to Subo

Liverpool have started talks with Borussia Dortmund over a deal to sign centre-back Mats Hummels, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp managed Hummels during his time in charge of the Bundesliga outfit and is keen to bring the 26-year-old to Anfield.

Itasportpress say that negotiations have already begun between the Reds and Dortmund over a potential move for the World Cup winning defender.

It’s understood Hummels is less than happy with new Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel which could help the Merseyside club push through a deal.

Gutted by Sundays defeat to Newcastle, really saw our fixtures from Swansea to Sunderland as our chance to really push on, shame we didn't meet the level of recent performances.
Stats for Benteke/Firmino not good reading!

Need to bounce back with a decent home performance v WBA now, although with Pulis in charge I can't see that being a walk in the park.

Is that true?

If so, he really must be testing Klopp's patience now.

Unsure. I saw it on my phone but am working late so haven't had a chance to check, I think it might have been commented on by now if it was true so maybe just mischief making

Sturridge would almost certainly be trending on Twitter if there was any scrap of truth to a potential injury. Too many people would want to make jokes about it.

His absence from the Trending list suggest it's gonna be alright.

Fair enough, sorry for the false alarm if it's nonsense!

Search for sturridge though on twitter and quite a few posts from today pop up of injury rumours.

It's been mentioned in a couple places, and it's Sturridge so it wouldn't take much to believe it.

Klopp will probably get asked about it soon enough if the club don't confirm it. If anything he might be waiting for scan results to determine how long he'll be out before saying anything...or he's trying to convince him to man-up.

Most of his injuries the past year and a half have been from outside of matches. If he picks up injuries in training then Klopp won't want to tolerate it for too long if it happens too often while he's here.

The silence from the club might suggest it's just a false alarm...or I'm just using that to be able to live in hope.

If he is injured again, then I think Klopp's mind might be made up on him, he has already had a comment basically saying that he wants him to "man up".

For the wages that he is on at the club, is he really proving money well spent whilst he is consistently injured?

If he is not injured and this is all just a non-story, then of course all of that goes out of the window!

As shite in the CL as we were last year. Not great for the PL overall if Arsenal also fail to get through tomorrow.

Thanks for the, er, insightful input. All of which was posted during his last injury. Top class banality as aleays. Whatever the situation, Sturridge proved vs Saints thst he's worth having around - his next deal/move is a while off as he needs to prove his fitness to either us or potential buyers.
