This is what you said, word for word.

"did you see the goal he just stood still as usual and for some reason his marker walked away from him mean while the rest of our team did some fantastic interchange."

So first you lambast him for standing still, which he was absolutely right to do because that's where the space was. And then you said this:

it wasn't that good a finish it was an overstretched scuffer.

Which doesn't do his justice any finish at all given that he had to stretch for it AND it was in the air. So yeah, you were pretty much insinuating that he was lucky.

Myhill got 2 points, both Fabianski and Hennessey got 8. Guess which one I put in goal on Ultimate?

Oh, and, at the risk of chatting sh!t, FU Vardy! Uh, maybe.

Time for me to give up I think, I know when I come across a skull too thick to penetrate.

Have a good evening.

Ball goes wide, defenders naturally run towards goal to block cross. Benteke follows move but then deliberately hangs back in space left by defenders, antlcipating pull-back as no room for cross. Pull-back duly cones albeit inaccurately meaning Benteke has to stretch for it, hence the slightly scruffy finish. That's not lazy, that's a very common strategy by centre forwards in such situations. If you can't see that and need to resort to patronising condescension then perhaps you should return to the tennis thread...

Richard - I am reading your exchanges with some fellow fans of the same club as you and I would have to say my sympathies lie more with them than you.

In no way have I read anything outrageous from anyone on here and yet you are choosing to rip their views apart and say you are laughing at them - I'd have to say not appropriate mate.

I too did not see the game either live or on a stream so I did what Dandem did and others too and listened to Sky, read reports and saw bits of the game on the net before watching the highlights later on MOTD. I would say it was a good win - as many saw us pre match as the under dogs and given the Newcastle and Watford displays you could understand why. Leicester confidence wise must be sky high so to beat them how ever it was done was to our credit - and actually we had 65% of the play I read and nearly 30 attempts so we did OK I feel.

Yes Benteke has not been outstanding yet but he has not been disastrous either and to sell so soon would be madness especially with so few other striker options - Studge and his injuries and Ings being out for the season. In the past I think players were often ditched far too soon and I think under JK that is not going to happen.

All in all lets just remember we are all on the same side and what our club song is - YNWA.

and the point stands it wasnt a particulary good finish, he didnt play that well and the goal was mostly down to the rest of the team involved in the play.

You've very conveniently side-stepped the counter to your original comnent where you criticised Benteke for not moving - my pount was clearly that this was a deliberate act on the forward's patt to create the space he needed. To turn that into a negative so you could berate a player you clearly don't like is what grates as it was wholly unnecessary.

Having just seen the goal again now, Benteke actually drops back 2 yards the moment Firmino receives the ball. He himself creates that space.

It is safe to say though we are missing that top class striker we usually rely on, Sturridge is one of them but he is not part of the plan, so badly injury prone that it's become a joke.

I look forward to the transfer windows

Clear to me that we need another striker this window with the injuries that keep cropping up, Benteke is not an out and out striker he can net a goal but cannot be relied upon to carry all the baggage up front.

The MOTM today for me was Lovern, The way that our defence helped press Leicester was a total contrast to the way Skrtel likes to back track, I was impressed and what a turn around for that player.

It wasn't the most exciting game but there was a disciplined display and a lot of hard work across the pitch, I feel for firmino he found space at times but he just isn't showing what he has shown he is capable of, I am sure he will come good with time as this season he is still settling into the team and the league.

Conveniently ignoring my post, Sloth's and the fact that you yourself has said that a) you were laughing at a fellow LFC fan and b) that they were a liar.

Yes we do have differences in opinion as LFC fans but lets try to treat each other with just a modicum of respect - you after all were the one who said you were laughing at another's views - which was the first disrespectful post. Maybe Dandem has reacted a bit to you but in a way I can understand it as I too would be angry if a fellow LFC fan had said they were laughing at my opinions.

Ever considered posting something conciliatory? - might be a good idea.

Best birthday ever!

LFC win, dinner, and Star Wars in imax 3D - can it get any better!

Oh so happy today!

Sorry I am not saying Benteke does not deserve credit for his goal... But in one post here you have tried to make Benteke sound like a modern day Gabriel Batistuta. Which he is not, Benteke is a player suited for teams aiming for mid table, not league winner material.

Lallana is so frustrating. There was times today where his technique was sublime. Terrific balance and can leave defenders for dead.

Shame he doesn't impose himself and control the game.

Why is the player who scored the winner getting stick?

Too many people expect instant sucess, not everyone hits the ground running. I remember when the same things were being said about Lucks and others. Even Sure took time to establish himself.

This can easily be put to bed.

Can anyone name a player we currently have who has never, ever received stick from the fans at sometime or other? ....................................................... thought not.

I hope your captain scores a hat-trick of own goals. Unless it's a Liverpool player then someone else.

From your favourite Munch.

Oh, and happy birthday!

Actually I'm only a hundred points off you now. If Vardy learned to turn up now and then, then the margin...wouldn't be any different since you also have him.

Because the 1 goal appears to have papered over a LOT OF obvious inadequacies in the eyes of some naive supporters. Benteke is simply not mobile enough, is far too slow and can easily be nullified against top class defenders.
