No kidding - great stuff! The type of player we need to bring through for next season to add some more craft, creativity and hopefully the odd goal or two.

People who knock rafa here and support rodgers are clearly trolls. Rafa won the champions league, what did br do? But semi destroy the club, troll is obvious.

Rafa also had his part in where we are as a club.

I have nothing but love and respect for Rafa but let's not re-write history.

TIA is currently doing overviews of our loanees, and today they are covering Danny Ward. He's doing an amazing job for Aberdeen just now, and has played every minute of every game so far with decent stats.

Worth keeping an eye on these for the future.

LINK

Edit: Flanno will be playing his first match tonight for the U21's!

Speaking of TIA, they posted a story on Flanno coming back, with the link captioned on FB with:

"Flanagan has been sidelined for 19 months."

Don't scare me like that!

LOL! I was just editing to add that same time as you were posting it. The headline scared me to death too!

I was just about to write off his Liverpool career over a silly misleading caption.

Flanagn coming back is phenonenal news, now all we need is to manage Sturridges gametime properly and we can aim for the title, its wide open.

Maybe a good spot, but re checking on YouTube the camera angle only shows the middle and far side of the pitch, we can't see if there was a defender on the near / assistants side playing them all on.
I did a reply to this yesterday but my laptop was playing up so I could not post it. It seems to be working OK now so I will try again - what you put is with respect rubbish.

It was maybe the worst decision of the season by an official as it was so clear - 5 yards or more off. As I officiate myself I can often understand and sympathise with mistakes made but not this one - if I had got that wrong at the level I officiate at I would have felt embarrassed but for a PL assistant ref to do it was just shocking and for sure he would have been torn apart by the assessor afterwards.

I think we need to go on and beat West Ham as well now if there's to be any remaining hope of top 4. We then have Arsenal and Utd within four days of each other at Anfield, and good results in those games too really would see us in a much stronger position. Might even help attract a good signing towards the end of the window.

Taurus - I do not agree when you say if we do not win both the games this week we have no chance of top 4 - 4 points out of 6 would be a good return but 6 would be even better I also think with JK in charge we can attract a decent level of signing whatever the results in the immediate future but those signings are more likely to be summer not January

It is hard not to look at the gap between us and the top - 9 points if we win at SFC and seeing as we play AFC shortly that could be down to 6 and it would only be January. Also we still have all the top teams to play at Anfield so you end up fantasising over how we could win the title but you are 100% right Kobashi to do so is getting way ahead of ourselves. I do think tho top 4 is within our capabilities but we could miss out on that too if we lose many more matches against sides we would not expect to lose to or fail to improve our home form. I think we have to try to do as well as possible and then look at it again about the start of March to see what a realistic aim would be. One problem is still being in all comps and with EL, Capital One Cup and FAC games to play our PL (which should be the priority) form may suffer

I do think there are going to be a lot more twists and turns in the title race - we are only half way through the season after all

How was what I said rubbish I said what we were basing the offside decision on was what we could see on the TV, which was half the pitch, we couldn't see all the pitch and had no idea what the assistant could see. There may have been another defender playing them on, unlikely yes, but it wasn't conclusive with the camera angle available. I'll forgive you this time as I don't think you understood what I wrote

You'll forgive me!!

All the Leicester players including the keeper had gone up for the long throw - and why would a defender run along the near touch line and make no attempt to come across and challenge Benteke and indeed the other 3 LFC attackers - get real. It was a horrendous mistake by the officials - altho why Benteke did not hold his run and make sure he was onside by staying in his own half till the pass was made I do not know.

Don't accuse me of talking rubbish when as as a ref you will know that you give decisions on what you can see and YOU couldn't see from the TV where all the Leicester players were when Liverpool broke so stop talking rubbish. I have already said it's unlikely that there was a defender playing them onside which is why I said maybe in my first post. Go and argue with someone else, but here's a tip read what they say.

I know its sounds insane to think we could have a shot at winning the title, but this season is one of the best chances we have had in years. There are no real stand out teams who have caught my eye and made me say "they are going to win the league and noone is stopping them". Look at Leicester as an example. It is midway thru the season and they have held City to a 0-0 draw. and top the table with Arsenal... Leicester!!!!!

I think Liverpool played the best football I have seen from ANY team this season when we defeated City. If we can replicate that performance a few times there is no reason why we cannot challenge for the title. BUT we NEED Sturridge and Ibe and Coutinho and Lallana firing on all cylinders, would help if we saw the real Benteke too.. We can cause havoc among ANY defense with those players. So I may sound like a dreamer by saying we can challenge for the league this season, BUT I LEARNT IN LIFE, YOU GOTTA DARE TO DREAM!!

The problem is for every City, Chelsea, Soton match there have been Newcastle, West Brom matches. We need to cut them out before we dare to dream. Hopefully winning away at Sunderland will be the start of a good run of games as we do need to find some consistency.

Yep of course, all I am saying is there is nothing I have seen so far to suggest we do not belong in the top 2, we really NEED that win tonight. It will go a long way to kick start us into building momentum, which no team has done at all so far, the first team to build momentum has a great chance of winning the league, its there for the taking man, we gotta get FIRED UP.

Klopp will win you the league, but it won't be this season. He needs to buy a few Germans first

And Sturridge firing on all cylinders...?! Now you really are dreaming.

To be fair, we had the same sort of wish for Hargreaves as well, and look how that ended up!

I always had a soft spot for Hargreaves. He was great for Bayern.

I was very optimistic about our league chances and then Newcastle happened.

Just posted this on the football betting pages, thought I would post it here just in case anyone is interested.

Coral are doing another daft offer of 5/1 on Liverpool to score a goal against Sunderland tonight which looks like a fair bet if you don't already have a Coral account.
http://promotions.coral.co.uk/landing-pages/crazy-prices-online-2912/

Looks like an easy £25 given Liverpool's current form and the fact that Sunderland have let in more goals than any other team in the premiership, currently on 38 and hopefully lots more after tonight!

This I suppose will not exactly help his reputation with you guys!

I always thought he had one or two screws that were not too tightly held together.

I NOTICE we play so much better when the players have had a good rest. I think prioritising our games with the right players is
Key to success. We will perform tonight as the players have had a decent few days rest and its also a late kick off.
