Rumours floating around on Twitter that we're set to appoint Gary McAllister to some kind of coaching role. I'll admit, it'd be nice to have a former Liverpool player and fan favourite on the team. This rumour also gives me the excuse to post one of my favourite ever Liverpool memories.

Saido Berahino got rid of his agent, Aidy Ward, which is apparently due to the Sterling situation.

Take note, Raheem.

That's why it was so crazy for his agent to do what he did. He lives by his reputation and the way his handled the sterling situation is so amateurish it's unreal.

Then again his working to his clients demands so sterling is just as much responsible.

Considering we were linked Berahino maybe the player believes any chance of a move to Liverpool would be without ward as his agent?

I agree with the sentiment here but I can't help thinking that Raheem is so naive and lacks maturity that he's playing along with whatever strings his agent pulls. It's almost as if his agent has filled his own head with £££ signs and is has got into the players head to such an extent, he now thinks he's an equal to Messi or Ronaldo.

The sickening thing is that he will probably get his move and his agent will get his ludicrous cut of the money.

So what happens if nobody bids 50million for him?

I personally would be amazed if anyone would pay anything for him now, there are a lot of much 'safer' options out there with potential who would be a lot less hassle.

If he didn't go through lack of offers? I don't honestly know what we would do with him, he's a contaminant and a problem. You could make him train alone, but I would be wary of playing him in a match - I now don't want him anywhere near our squad.

It would be really ironic if City now signed Berahino instead!

He gets his head down and sorts himself out.

I think he's stepped over the line now.

Maybe so but if he doesn't leave then his got no other choice. There is always a way back if the player himself gets his attitude sorted.

If he didn't leave and then trained well and showed the right attitude he would be up for selection like anyone else.

Why are Liverpool pissing about with sterling. If its true he wants out and a 40m offer comes in then take it and get rid. Last thing we need is him disrupting the team.

It has to be £50 m to make it worthwhile. If he doesn't leave, he will have to knuckle down for the sake of his England career and future prospects. He won't get to the Euros if he sits on the bench. Worse case scenario, he stays and plays for £30 grand a week(?) and we still get £20m at the end of his contract.

Not gonna get 50m for him. If he's said he won't be signing a new contract then what is the point letting his contract run down.

Because if we sell for £40m we end up with £30m net. It will cost us that to replace him and pay his replacement £100,000 a week. Thus by keeping him we save £7 m on wages and still get £20 m when he leaves after 2 years. So we don't actually lose any money, so it makes no difference to the club whether we sell now or run down the contract. The only one who loses out is Sterling and his agent and Liverpool show that they won't be bullied by any player.

Sterling could also stop pissing about and hand in a formal transfer request?

No idea what the hell is going on in his head but it seems that some of it is to do with his agent. One thing for sure if he leaves for another big club then he'll be warming the bench more than he would of at Liverpool.

I don't blame man city for baulking at £50 mil but the club have to stay strong and if city won't pay that the player stays at Liverpool.

Sterling won't like it but that's football and he will just have to get on with it.

Cheers for loaning us Danny Ward, saved our bacon in the last minute with a great save to get us through in the Europa.

By far one of the funniest parody videos I've seen about LFC.

Must have something about him to get a 5 year contract recently.

We haven't had a decent keeper for at least 10 years, hopefully he can buck that trend and is a lot better than the last keeper we got from yourselves, Tony Warner.

Good interview with Stevie G on the BBC Sport pages today, worth a read - I for one will be following his every move over there. Telling comment in it re Sterling - "I'd love to be able to say what I want to say on it," - I would so love to know, but he's too much a pro to divulge anything for now.
