I guess that puts the Subotic stories to bed then.

I'm a little surprised after what Klopp had to say yesterday. He made it sound as if Toure and Sakho were ready and Lovren was very close. It has to be concerning for Ilori and maybe even Wisdom when the manager had to seek out another club's loanee to do a filling-in job. Looking at his playing record this season, Caulker probably won't even be 100% match sharp either.

Klopp: We have Kolo, Mama and Lucas - so three senior centre-backs [fit].

If Klopp says you're a centre-back, you're a centre-back.

I used to like Caulker, don't think he's progressed a great deal in the past year. I've had him in my Ultimate fantasy side, two seasons I think, and he barely plays. If we get him I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Caulker has issues outside of the pitch. Tottenham got rid cos he was always out on the town getting into trouble. QPR has issues. There was stories when he went to saints about fights with bouncers. His only 24 and has been moved on frequently which tells you a lot.

Well, he likes a drink, Klopp likes a drink, looks like they'll get on perfectly!

Also it's 10 years to the day we signed Danny Agger. With our injury situation it might be for the best that he's not playing for us, but we could do with a fit Dagger right now.

Liverpool have made an official application to have 'The Normal One' trademarked under European law. ‪

That's...sad. I know it'd make money, and would have accepted the club milking it with t-shirts and flags and stuff like that, but this? Have some class LFC.

Scout: "Yes, boss? "
Klopp: "All our central defenders are injured - get one ASAP"
Scout: "A top, top player?"
Klopp: "A corker"
Scout: "Leave it with me boss..."

Seems we're making £3.6m from the Jonjo Shelvey to Newcastle transfer. Not bad.

Not far off the £5m the Swans paid us for him.I'm glad we agreed the add on for subsequent moves as it would've looked like we'd taken a hit again.

I'm wondering if Danny Ward will play tonight seeing as he's been recalled, might as well give him a try.

Anyone else REALLY hoping Klopp buys a striker this window, I feel he needs to, Origi out for a month, Ings and Sturridge nowhere near a return, Benteke not really firing although to be fair to him our play doesn't suit him right now. I would be very disappointed if he didn't try to sign a striker.

Injuries or not we already have enough strikers. I dont expect a striker until someone leaves.

Realistically who are you gonna get in January.

Any talk of lacazette or aubameyang is silly. Never gonna happen in January window.

Various sites are reporting this as the starting line up for tonight

Mignolet, Moreno, Caulker, Toure, Clyne, Can, Lucas, Milner, Firminio Lallana, Benteke

Will be interesting to see if Caulker makes his debut.

Not sure - we NEED a striker as we're down to one, with a rookie and a fragile player (who's played a handful of games in 18 months) the only short term options on the horizon. I'm sure we'd sort something out if the right player became available, whether that's a short term fix via a free/loan or something more permanent - while we have a chance of a push for top 4, we shouldn't discount anything. Both Sturridge and Suarez were January buys.

Reckon Caulker was a stats-based acquisition, probably on headers won versus our evident deficiencies in that area. Let's hope he behaves himself and isn't tempted to sample Liverpool's nightlife. He was a decent prospect Nobel but seems to have stalled and lost focus.

Seems we're getting Joel Matip on a free, unfortunately he won't be arriving until the summer but nice anyway.

They were but Sturridge was a player not playing @ Chelsea and a player Chelsea didn't require. Suarez was a deal done months before pretty much when Hodgson was in charge.

Firmino is the guy!!!!
