I don't think Leicester are gonna collapse. People need to accept that they are genuine title contenders.

No doubt. For me there is only 1 space to fight for. City, Arsenal and Leicester will fight for the title.

Can't see Leicester winning the league. But I cannot see us catching them either. Arsenal to win, City 2nd and Leciester 3rd. Will be Spurs, Man Utd and hopefully us in a battle for 4th

But we will probably end up finishing below Chelsea.

What a game. Madness. Nice to see Firmino producing the quality I always knew him capable of, and a Joe Allen goal is a collector's item. Nice to see him getting a very well taken goal. Credit to Benteke for the assist. He did very little else mind, but those kind of knock ons are what he was there to do, so fair play.

I'm not really too displeased with the result, although the defending is again nothing short of dreadful. The midfield didn't help by sloppily giving away possession all the time, most notably by Can.

Now if we could stuff United on Sunday, that'd be superb.

Can was great first half but tired real bad second half. I think he needs to pace himself better so he doesn't get so spent.

If that game was a film, it would be One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. With Joe Allen the Red Indian guy...

Same spirit against United - with a pinch of defending please

Fantastic game. The tempo was non-stop from start to finish. Both teams looked dead on their feet at the end.

Obviously disappointed with how we defended, and Mignolet did himself no favours yet again on the day when he's apparently getting a new contract, but I'm very happy with Firmino finally stepping up and showing us some of what he's capable of. Benteke did well to win the header at the end but there was a couple of occasions where he might have had a goal had he been a tad sharper. Credit to Allen for getting in there and slotting it away.

Klopp recently said this set of players have until the end of the season to show him they should be a part of his long term plans. Hopefully he won't need that long to see Lallana just isn't good enough. Clyne really annoyed me tonight as well; as solid as he is defensively his short passing needs serious work as it kills so many attacks for us. Can has the makings of a very good midfielder but his decision making definitely needs improvement. Luckily I think he's got an excellent manager to help him fulfil his potential.

Under the circumstances I guess a point isn't bad. Arsenal are the best side in the league at the moment and it showed with some of their attacking play (how on earth did Giroud miss that sitter?!). As long as we beat United I'll be pleased.

I guess Mignolet would be Jack Nicholson's character as he played as though he'd had a lobotomy.

I was happy with that - am surprised to read negative things about many players and I think some of you are being very harsh. It was a fantastic game and to me it would have been a travesty if we had lost but AFC are great going forward and punished us big style. Moreno I think was one of the best tonight and others who I often think of as average were way better than average tonight

My biggest criticism is reserved for Mig as for both the first 2 goals I think he could have done better and I do not understand him getting a 5 year deal. The fee for Ter Stegen is rumoured to be 20m and some have said that's way too much - I disagree as I think keepers are so vital and to get a good one will have a very positive effect on the whole team so I think we should just pay it Sadly I do not get the impression that we intend to do that and I think we will regret it. Plus if we sell Mig it will not end ups 20m it will be a lot less.

Agree. The negativity is crazy. Arsenal a better side than us and we more than deserved a point against this side.

on Ter Stegan maybe in the summer , barca won't sell there CL keeper mid season.

Frustrating to drop points, but given we were 3-2 down, that'll almost feel like a win, especially against a side playing so well. Hopefully that momentum is carried through and we pick up the 3 points in the next game.

We really do need to replace Mignolet. He's a decent shot stopper and has saved us on many occasions but his errors tend to be quite costly.

One of those magnificent PL games. Desperately disappointed with our continued defensive/GK mistakes, it's heartbreaking stuff really; we could easily have went in 2-0 at half-time and Arsenal would've been in a bit of trouble. ( in fact Firmino very nearly had a hat-trick in that first half )

Need more of the same sort of passing game and energy at the weekend, hopefully with better concentration at the back. At the moment it's hard to see a big future for Benteke in this team. It's not really his fault, we just don't have the midfield set-up or wide ball crossers that compliment his best assets.

Not allowed to post anything negative about anyone despite conceding 3 goals at home. You couldn't make it up.

Nope just the positives outweigh the negatives.

Should the ref of stopped play on the first goal? Giroud went down with a head injury.

Putting Caulker up front was a mad, yet decent move by Klopp. The United defenders better be prepared for that one!

Both of their goals in the 1st half came when we were in control of the game, but we gave the ball away in silly areas. Arsenal can probably say the same about the goals we scored, but we were bossing the game at the time. Had we led for a bit longer in the 1st half and our defence and midfield were a bit more disciplined, we could have made life a bit more difficult for them.

Who has said you are not allowed to post anything negative? - several have posted negative things about MIg - as he was poor, but for me he was the only one standing out as poor as all the rest in my eyes played at or above their normal level.

After Newcastle, Watford and West Ham where any negativity was fully justified this was an epic performance. AFC who are prob on the best form of any PL team at present and are equal title favourites came to Anfield and played very well - and I think we more than matched them.. Scoring has been a problem recently, last night we scored 3 and could have had more.. After that happens the right reaction is to praise the team to the hilt not pick out players as playing badly. Yes not every shot went in or was even on target, yes not every pass found a red shirt, yes we did not win every tackle or defensive header but most of our attempts were decent, there was some great vision in the passing which had an attacking mentality throughout and most of all the lads clearly gave it their all in very testing conditions - and we did not have anything near our first choice team playing. I feel a new surge of optimism after watching that.

Not really - for me good refffing - you make split second calls and I think that one was right as it is never good practice to stop an attack for an injury to an attacking player. Maybe if it had been our player down it would have been right to stop play.

Twas indeed.

I thought we were excellent in a lot of areas last night bar straight forward defending and of course goalkeeping. Can't think the last time I left a match thinking "well Mignolet saves us there"! The defending for the first two goals was poor as was the goalkeeping.

Going forward though was very much improved, as was the pressing game back. I thought we deserved to win really but I suppose you cannot concede 3 at home and expect that, a point was the least we deserved though.

I now hope we can keep up that intensity for Sunday. Do you think Klopp may make a few changes though considering last night may have taken a lot out of some of them?

I think Mignolet has made important saves for us, he does it fairly regularly, the problem is, that his errors tend to be very costly, I've not been impressed with our defending since Carragher retired.

I think it was Neville who wrote an article on the poor state of defending these days, and although I have to accept the game has changed, I really agree with him.

A more commanding keeper would solve the issues that Mignolet causes us, but there aren't that many of them out there...

I was happy with the link with ter Stegen, and at 20 million, I feel it'd be worthwhile to take of that position for a fair few years. He's only 23, and although I haven't watched much of him at Barcelona, I thought he was pretty good for that German club that I can't spell, so I'll just say Gladbach.

He's been lobbed a couple of times from quite far out, but apart from that he's been pretty good for Barca. Mignolet is a great shot stopper, but at everything else he is average to poor.

Conceding so quickly after each time we scored was murder, had we held out longer who knows, we may have gone onto win. Arsenal always look suspect on the counter, but we were never in the lead for long enough to try and take advantage.
