And that is why you have to capitalise on your chances. How depressing.

Don't mind losing to decent United sides but losing to this particular one is soul destroying. Our lack of cutting edge versus de Gea always made the smash and grab a very real possibility

But we are even worse, Unite are a better team.

I think they are implying that UNT are better in general, player for player. League positioning reinforces their point.

Can't wait to read about all the positives from this game. It's a damn good thing we have all these players that run around a lot because that's more important than making and scoring goals.

Well, don't feel like we deserved that. Certainly don't feel like United deserved that. Losing a game where you outplay your opposition is frustrating enough as it is, but for it to happen against a desperately poor United side at Anfield is downright infuriating.

United have a better keeper, not team.

De Gea man of match, no surprise there, yes this happened last year at Anfield to and again De Gea was man of the match. It not that we don't have chance, I would love to see the stats on this as it was all us but we can't finish, thats where we miss Sturridge, he is clinical.

I thought Henderson played alright, made some nice passes and tried to get us to do something but we couldn't finish anything off. We left it too late for changes. Caulker coming on in the 89th minute isn't going to be the answer.

Would be nice if we had a goalkeeper. If Danny Ward can play in the FA Cup then I hope we put him in goal in the game against Exeter to give Mignolet something to think about.

Lallana just does not offer enough. No assists, no goals.

They've scored 28 league goals to our 25, so I'm not buying that. A defensive outlook and a world class keeper was the difference today.

The two saves he made were decent, no more than that. You wouldn't expect any premier league keeper to let them in.

Let it be said, Mignolet could do nothing about the goal. If De Gea was playing nets for us, that still goes in.

£25 million as well!!!

I like him generally as a player but he HAS to be offering more in the final 3rd, which is where he fades away quite spectacularly for a £25 million player

A crap game, almost the complete opposite from midweek. Neither team deserved to win it really. At times we didn't play that badly, but we had no firepower today, or at least not enough.

And again, we lose a goal from a set piece. Just depressing, we must have the worst record in the league for defending corners. Worse, it had to come from an ex-Everton 1-2 !

Not a day for picking our motm, but it was probably Sakho and on a day when utd offered very little upfront, that's not saying a lot for our midfield and attackers.
