I also feel like we're at a point where Teixeira should be starting ahead of Lallana. The lads 23 next week, he's not exactly a kid anymore, get him out there. He can't exactly offer anything less, since Lallana is offering us 0 at the moment.

When you're ranked first in the league for shots and chances created and you're stuck in 9/10th in the league table its clear where the problem is.

How did the ref miss the blatant push by Rooney on Lucas at 76:00 minutes? That would have given us a free kick 25 yards from their goal.
Less than 2 minutes later we conceded the goal, although we had regained and lost possession in between. |

Well, Sky Sports seem to think United were the bees knees today, they all got rated much higher than we did, with Rooney *who did sod all but was there to score 1 goal* getting 8. A point less than De Gea who was far superior imo. We played far better, but, we have to get that bluddy ball into the back of the net, our finishing was dire.
Roll on the summer when Klopp will be able to make the changes he needs, pretty sure he's already got his mind made up on who is out, and who will be next in. |

May be I am biased but I do think we were the much better side today and at least deserved the draw. Am I wrong?

De Gea made saves you'd expect any PL keeper to. Not sure why people are making out he won United the game. Not every team has a keeper that regularly costs their team points e.g. Mignolet.
Rooney was there to take their one chance but that's ultimately what you want from a striker. Benteke can't even be arsed to get into the box half the time when the ball is out wide. United were there for the taking today, no doubt about it. Martial is their one player who looks dangerous with the ball and Sakho pocketed him. They were awful. Yet we still looked absolutely toothless going forward with Lallana and Milner running down blind alleys. Can was by far our biggest goal threat which is worrying. |

Well I'm going to go against the majority here - I thought we did pretty well, were far the superior team for the first 60 mins and at the very minimum we deserved a point although realistically all 3.
The difference in the end - a certain David de Gea - he makes 3 or 4 decent saves, Mignolet has one shot to save and doesn't. I thought Lucas was immense 1st half, going into every challenge with fellaini with 100% commitment, getting his foot in and spraying some lovely balls to his team mates, most notably the one to Lallana. Lallana, firmino, Henderson, Can all had chances whereas man Utd had ONE and they took it. Unsure why Henderson was the man marking Fellaini at every corner, although for the actual goal he had sucked 4 to him and left Rooney free ![]() so for me not a cr@p performance by us, but lacking a cutting edge at one end and a keeper who saves more than he concedes at the other. |

I did an unusual thing the other day - posted on the MUFC thread - and to be fair I was treated OK!! - someone had said we were always up for it V them and | quoted it and pointed out that the last 3 games we had lost to them we were outplayed every time and had no passion at all - the Brad Jones game at OT, SG sending off game at Anfield and Martials debut. So today in my eyes was a marked improvement in that I think most neutrals would agree that we did not deserve to lose - but we lack a cutting edge and it was still a 4th defeat on the run to them.
Apart from the fact that I absolutely hate losing to MUFC in the bigger scheme of things I am not too down over it all as we have so many players who would be first teamers out and in the summer JK will hopefully do some significant transfer business. I think most players did OK today but sadly none were outstanding and none could finish. If asked to name LFCs motm I'd probably say Lucas or maybe Toure but Hendo, Milner, Firmino and Can did a lot right too altho they all wasted opportunities as well. The one who is frustrating me more and more as his LFC career progresses is Lallana who I just see as too nice and often flattering to deceive. I too think Tex possibly has a case for being given a chance in place of him but he will obviously play V Exeter so that will be a chance to stake his claim and we will take it from there. |

I thought it was an incredibly poor game and I didn't think you guys played well at all. I thought you looked pretty toothless and devoid of ideas. On the other hand we were probably worse. I'll take the points but that's about it.

a) compared to you we were possibly better (but goals win games and you scored and we didn't) b) compared to the Newcastle, Watford and West Ham displays we were definitely better c) compared to our last 3 displays V MUFC it was a lot better too. But yeah it was not a good game and if any LFC fan described us as playing well I think that would not be accurate - after reading your post I had to check to see if I had and I am glad to say I hadn't

Andrew Beasley That's an ugly stat...
@BassTunedToRed United have had four shots on target against Liverpool this season. Scored four goals. |

But thanks for coming in to tell us you thought we didn't play well. I'm sure had we won 1 nil our saying that in your thread would have went down well. |

That's an ugly stat... ![]() Seems "some" Man Utd fans have gone from wanting LVG out last week to thinking they can still win the league after an undeserved win v us, how quickly opinions change. |

I don't think it was an incredibly poor game from Liverpool, maybe not played well as such but better than your team did. Toothless Liverpool still tested your keeper far more than your team did to ours. No "probably" about it, you were worse.

Another telling stat - our starting lineup had a grand total of 6 league goals in it if my calculations are correct - add de Gea and LVG's philosophy and the result isn't as much of a shock suddenly. We're always hoping we take our chances - loyalty, blind hope and faith letting most of us deny the reality.

How incredibly rude of you. You can always ignore me you know.
Like you coming in as a Man Utd fan to say we were crap isn't a tad rude maybe? Sometimes being the bigger man and saying nothing says more? I'll use you own argument on your last sentence, you are hard to ignore when you are all over DS. |

Again I don't see what the problem is. Eddie just gave his opinion, which just happened to be a negative opinion about Liverpool in the Liverpool thread. I see no wrong in that, I don't see it as rude, and I don't know why when a Man United fan comes in here they end up getting such a harsh reception.
Is it any different to the pessimists who post in here during the matches? Is Grouty saying we're going to get beat any better than Eddie saying we were crap? Sick Bullet said Man United are a better team than us. How's that any different? |

To be fair it wasn't exactly the best spectacle to watch, we were just the team that came away with the win.
Lots to work on for both managers. |
