Where would he play at city and who would they have to leave out?

You don't pay 200k a week for someone to sit on the bench. He will be in the first eleven easily.

Sterling may have been acting the fool but looks like he's got what he wanted. Higher wages, realistic chance of winning things, CL football and playing with better players.

To be fair the club have done well also to get a higher transfer fee. Everybody wins.

If he goes there I do think he will play quite a bit - at first!! - but when his displays fail to deliver then there is every chance he will be left out and thereafter may struggle to regain his place, that's what I think.
Hart managed to regain his place pretty quickly after being dropped. Don't think City would just give up on a £45-50m home-grown player after a few bad performances.

Where would he play at city and who would they have to leave out?
Probably as part of a 3 behind Aguero. Navas was their main choice on the right last season.

Imagine they'll play him in the same position he's played for your boys, and, if so, I'd expect him to go straight into their starting XI.

Aguero through the middle with Sterling down the left and Silva down the right (or vice versa)? Navas and Nasri providing competition.

If its true he'll get 200k a week is then that's just ridiculous. Only winners out of this are Liverpool.

Unless of course he has a great season and City do very well with him in the team. Then the winners would also be City.

Well Sterling too. He's on the 200k a week playing in a better team!

I don't think City would be winners in that case, no.

That is just bonkers, I mean, come on, what does he do on the pitch?

Runs like hell down the wing -
Shimmies a bit, then any of....
a) Loses the ball
b) Makes a poor pass
c) falls over (dives) for a penalty.

Sure he has potential, but does City have the time and patience to bring that along?

The sooner he is gone the better, and, I'm willing to bet he will write a full account of 'My Hell at Liverpool'.......

I'm an outsider looking in.

I'm a firm believer that if a player doesn't want to be at your club then let him go. Not worth the hassle of upsetting the dressing room & causing trouble.

I think Sterling has been advised wrong on so many levels. He should be getting his head down and playing football. He hasn't come across well in this whole situation.

Liverpool fans need to accept the possibility that Sterling might do well. He will certainly play most weeks.

Yeah the amount of times I saw sterling running at players and doing any of the 3 things you said. His dribbling stats ain't great or his crossing and don't get me started on his shooting.

Sorry guys I think that's just bull. I think people play his ability down because of the contract stuff. He's a good player. Time will tell whether he becomes great!

It's been a bit of a pantomime this week; not turning up for training; he's sick; he's not going on tour; he is going on tour; it's £50m or no deal; £44m is city's final offer... I'll be glad when it's all over and done with and we can concentrate on more important things like our team.

And if it's true City are offering him Suarez, Aguero & Hazard levels of cash is just incredible. All Aidy Wards BS would be seen to have paid off big time.

No doubt on his day he's good but a lot of times he doesn't perform. Maybe that will be different at man city only time will tell.

No doubt. His a very good player who with the right coaching should get better and better.

Players come and go that's football just some players leave football clubs with some decorium and respect.

City will get themselves a talented player.

In talks with City, hopefully they'll manage to get him this time.
I hope they don't, I want him to rot on the bench until Xmas at least then they can take him, might teach him some respect. I can't recall a player ever showing so little respect for LFC, jumped up little $hit. Grrrrr rant over.

City are mostly paying top dollar for potential. Sterling is good but, currently, he's not £50m / £200k-a-week good. Last season#s output, especially given he played up front on many occasions, was average.

But he's not even 21 yet, so could blossom into a superb player IF he knuckles down plus gets his end product right.

The big question is should Liverpool have blown their wage structure and turned down £45m+ hoping that happens? Maybe a year ago but Sterling has made it abundantly clear for some time now he wants to leave. Based on last season, we'll lose 7 league goals and seven assists - so we can fill the void you'd think. What we'll lose is that chance that Raheem could develop into a true world class talent who delivers regularly.

Given the circumstances and our need for financial clout to further bolster our squad, I'm happy to let City take that gamble. We'd struggle to sustain the salary hikes putting a 20 year old on a stellar contract would have initiated, for one - there would soon be a queue of disgruntled regulars who'd want to be similarly rewarded. It's not a road we can currently afford to go down frankly, whatever the more idealistic fans may want.

He'll play regularly and, for England's sake, good luck to him. As a Liverpool fan, though, I'm more than happy for the club to pocket the money and move on.

The idea that Liverpool would ever let him rot in the reserves was fanciful.
FSG are business men, they aren't going to waste an asset to them.
Sterling doesn't want to play for Liverpool. It happens.
City will pay the fee and wages that they think he is worth.
It could turn out to be brilliant or the worst bit of business by either club.
That's football. You can't dwell on it as another player always comes along.

Well Sterling too. He's on the 200k a week playing in a better team!
I don't think he's won himself any friends with his shenanigans.

I think his behaviour has been pretty shocking tbh. But I think City are looking a bit desperate so you might be able to take them to the cleaners.

I have a dream.

City - " Yes Raheem, we will pay the £50m for you, plus a salary of £200k per week w/bonuses. However, there is one condition, ditch your agent or we pull out".

Won't happen, but I would so love it if it did!
