And? I hope we're up for it and get stuck in - kept them very quiet at Anfield which surprised me as we're usually prone to pacy away sides doing us on the break. I think we need to be very positive, similar to the City game away.

That's simply not true. I had no such worries, well one slight one, thinking how he'd be the scapegoat on DS if he did miss ....but he scored his pen last pre season, he scored both well taken pens in our earlier pen shootout, the one that went on and on and on.

So having scored 3 out of 3 I had no such fears and it was a brilliant penalty, to be fair the whole of our team took good pens, even Can, as strange as that sounds.

Loved Lucas's celebration after scoring it to, on his 300th appearance.

Overall pretty poor performance from most of the team, although on 45 mins I was saying this will do until a few seconds later the linesman ballsed up!!

Grit and determination happily saw us through and good pens of course!

6 shots out of 6 passed Migs had me groaning but very happy to see him make those saves in the shootout. Worst players of the pitch for me Henderson & Moreno!

So hoping Klopp can get us a trophy in his 1st season.

I have just started reading SGs book - and Stevie feels the same way that is clear. I so want him to score in a normal match one day!! The day Lucas leaves LFC will be a sad day that's for sure.”

Couldn't agree more. I am a big fan of Lucas. He was our player of the season in the 2010/11 season and on his way to it again the following season before that bad injury.

I know he has his limitations but he gives it 100% every game, he has a passion and commitment and love for this club despite the hard press he has often had.

He celebrates every goal and win like a true fan. I even saw him score in a pre season v Dortmund a few years ago, a tap in from 3 yards and he celebrated that like he'd scored the winning goal in the Champions league.

The amount of foot in's, tackles, blocks he gives his all too despite previous injuries. He is infectious to have around the squad I think. If only he was better at the more technical things he'd be an ideal captain for us, better than Hendo.

I so hope he starts at Wembley having missed out 4 times through injury. He deserves an honour for all his time at the club, hard to believe he's our current longest serving player.

I think you misunderstand my comment, or are taking it in the wrong context.. Lucas has not scored a 'goal' since the 2010/11 season for Liverpool - I have even heard the players jokingly say to pass to anyone but Lucas with the goal in sight. They, like me, hold huge respect for the guy, but are more than well aware he doesn't know how to net a goal - in match play.

I had the same worry as you, that he'd be the scapegoat from the fans (not the team) if he missed - but then again, I wasn't watching Allan either when it got to him!

Interview with Alex Teixeira, sounds like he wants to become a Liverpool player.

Really hope we are able to bag him.

According to Sky Sports News the deal is stalled and likely won't go ahead.

That's a total lack of respect for his club doing such an interview. No different to what sterling did. Actually worse as he specifically mentions Liverpool (if it was Chelsea he would be saying the same things).

I absolutely loved Benteke's penalty. For a player who's supposedly low on confidence, it was a really cocky penalty. Loved that he channeled the spirit of Balotelli for that one.

They want 38 million now, they I see it if hes not worth 38 then hes not worth the 28 million we just offered and there is noway we would be paying him that high a salary.

So pay 38 million

And, to be fair, his general touch when he came on was very good - certainly when compared to many of the other players on the night. He didn't really get a clear chance on goal though so I was still fretting a little when he stepped up.

I'm in two minds now - forgotten Everton had got a 0-0 these recently so maybe there's hope. Although City did have 17 attempts and Aguero is fully firing now. City's defence a bit threadbare so I think Everton should go out to grab an early away goal or even two.

It'll be great watching it as a fan of the one confirmed finalist, though!

Can't believe he did that interview.. If I was shaktar I would be fuming.

Anyway shaktar are not gonna bow down and accept £28m. They gonna be looking for at least £34m

Yes it was disrespectful to do that to his club, but if he honestly felt that he wouldn't be able to progress and play for his country, unless he left the club, then maybe it was just a case of desperate times call for desperate measures.

Sterling said he had to leave to progress, we didn't like it.

Desperate times? Shakhter are not saying he can't leave, they just want the price requested. It's no different to how we handled the sterling saga refusing to budge on the price.

Shakhter and there fans deserve better than that.

It's his movement which is the problem. His instincts are all wrong.

Reports are suggesting we're trying to get Joel Matip in January, despite previous reports saying we were getting him in the summer. I thought we already agreed a deal to sign him in the summer, but it has gone quiet on that front in recent weeks.

Klopp will have a better understanding of the squad now than he did at the start of January so plans may well change. Might lower the chances of Caulker playing in defence this season though, aside from maybe defensive midfielder. Seems Klopp sees him as the answer to our striker problems.

I think those reports are false. Why would they sign Caulker if they were going to bid for Matip?
