This Klopp arrangement doesn't seem to be working out as hoped. . . .

We are spineless and goes to prove that Klopp should of brought in somebody in the Jan window.

Not for those who thought he would just walk in here and take the team to the top.

Vardy has great balance. Treads lightly whilst those around him flounder.

My only concern about Klopp is can he cope in a league when you play week in and week out without a winter break?!

I hope they can keep it going and win the title.

Are Liverpool worse under Klopp than Rodgers?

I think something has to give next year. We don't have the resources to play this amount of games.

The best thing for the team but not the club is to not be in europe next year.

We need a season where we can basically just concentrate on the league.

To be honest, I don't think we deserved to go behind when we did, but the moment Vardy scored his 2nd, we gave up. No fight, no spirit, no determination. Nothing. And that's pretty tragic when you consider what we did at Norwich.

Early days but in pts/game in the league I think it's 1.77 for Rodgers and 1.375 for Klopp. Rodgers was 1.5 for the first 8 games before Klopp came in I think.

think our passing has got worse but maybe thats just because the players are starting to feel the strain of playing all these matches.

We don't have any players who can shoot and nobody hungry to score goals.

Without anything in the final 3rd you can't win games

If Klopp had matched Rodgers we'd have 40pts now and be in with a shout of top four. Tbf, even Rodgers couldn't match Rodgers with Sturridge not firing on all cylinders and Suarez inconveniently playing 865 miles away from the rest of the team.

Best if we don't win the league cup then. Would start in July wouldn't we?

But yeah, if Klopp is to succeed he'll need to seriously bolster the squad in the summer. I saw a stat that we're to play 25 games in something like 80 days in this hectic period. Averaging a game every 3.4 days. The only other team in recent years to play games at that rate was Chelsea in 2012-13 when they won the Europa League and reached the semis of both domestic cups, averaging a game every 3.5 days, and they had a far better squad than we do now.

Fair play to Leicester and Ranieri. Their system works a charm and I would love them to go on and win the league. For us, I just want to win a trophy and get to the end of the season now.

So many midfielders who are not dynamic enough. Without coutinho and Sturridge the side just has no real cutting edge.

Lallana is as luxury as you can get if you can call him that. The guy just huffs and puffs and won't make it here. His not ruthless enough.

I agree the passing and ball retention is far worse under Klopp.

I would also say the following:

The team is unable to defend since Klopp came in.

Attacking play in the final third is worse in terms of it being rushed, and with there being very little idea of how they're going to score. Most of the time, the players are still trying to pass the ball in to the net instead of shooting which leads to loss of possession. No one seems to either have the desire or ability to shoot on target.

Firmino and Benteke are simply not good enough, and need to be sold.

Lewandowski needs to be bought in for whatever it costs. Clearly with no European football on the horizon for next season, the only lure the club has is his relationship with Klopp, and money. We should all be thankful that Klopp said no to spending £38m on that Taxiera or whatever he's called, he simply wasn't what's required. If LFC can get Lewandowski for £75-80m, it would be a huge statement of intent. With Guardiola having £150m to spend at Man City, and Mourinho all but guranteed the Man Utd job, I can see Liverpool being left ever further out in the wilderness.

Last thing. I'm amazed that Klopp didn't bring a single player in during the transfer window. It makes me wonder exactly what's going on. One transfer target of dubious ability at a club that Ayre must've known would never deal.

The club has 3 points more than Bournemouth. No disrepect to the lads on the south coast, they've done brilliantly, but enough said.

No sympathy - chased a player we were clearly not going to get this window and failed to sign the goal threat (temporary or otherwise) we so desperately need. Difference tonight was a pacy goal threat. Made the same mistake last January. The way we deal in the transfer market is ponderous and bloated. Good luck to Leicester.

Agreed about Lallana. He needs to go.

To be frank, a wholesale clearout in needed. Other than Coutinho and Ibe, I can't think of anyone in the first team I'd keep.

admire the post but no chance of geting lewandowski. I dont think he will even leave bayern this year.

its real madrid this summer or if they lose the transfer embargo appeal I think he will wait it out. Bayern wont want to sell and he isnt gonna go unless its a madrid or barca.

still think firminho deserves more time. benteke though can go for sure, moreno also!

I was dismayed when Spurs snatched, Alli from under our noses after we hesitated over paying £5m for an obvious talent. That's not hindsight - I posted on the Spurs thread the day they signed him. He'd have got into our midfield and provided the energy, creativity, goals and imagination we lack from too many of our samey players.
